| Linux is very good, the lack of viruses is probably the best thing about it, but configuring it to work is a real hassel and you really need to know a lot about your computer. Depending on which type of Linux you get, SuSe or red hat can totally change what you need to configure. Its a real good system but it requires a lot of knowledge of your pc. |

| I hear from a few of my friends that its a really good operating system. In some ways its better than Windows they say. But personally I think I'll stick with Windows, until I can try out Linux. |

Linux is great, way better than windows and a lot less buggy. If you get linux, don't get Mandrake! I made that mistake.. get Red Hat  |

| Yes Red Hat would be the one I recommend, I tried SuSE and didn't like it too much. Red Hat is much better. |

Yeah, I like Red Hat myself.
Only problem I find with Linux is compadabilty issues, which is why I currently don't use it. Eventually, I'll switch back to it...either that or just build another system and put it on that one. |

| Red Hat is teh bestest one ever out of Linux i have it running on my comp along with WIndows XP i like them both very fun to use But Linux takes a Smarrty pants to get it working Full Drive |

| linux is good, but Mac OS X is better. it's really just UNIX with a Mac GUI. everything i've done in UNIX/Linux i've done in OS X, even from a command line. i run three web servers, two running OS X and one running OS X server. i've been able to install and configure my own PHP, MySQL and Apache packages, as well as configure everything from the shell to sendmail. i used Mandrake for about a week to admin a server, then i just scrapped it, got a Mac, put OS X on it, and have run that ever since. |

Hey dude we weren't not talking about Mac's. Even if they do own 
Okay use Linux if you wanna make a server or want a professional OS.
Use windows if you want an easier to use invironment.
Their are downs and ups of both, heres one.
Linux: $0
Windows: $200+
