PCTEL's Onlinestation
At first I was sceptical of the new adapter. It just didn't fit to the highly black PS2 box with its ugly light blue self. I plugged it in and connected my cable modem snuggly. I inserted my brand new, fresh out of the case, Netscape Browser disk in and let the machine do the work. I was online twelve seconds after the machine was turned on! How awsome is that?! I made sure my monitor was set to my settings and the keyboard was plugged in all the way and went to work. I only found a couple of glitches when the browser was made. !It does not work on the first class of PS2's using dialup! You can only have broadband for the first Serial of PS2's. Sorry. Netscape is, though, making a Beta version of browsers capable of dialup on the first of the PS2's.
Squaresoft's FFXI
This is an awsome game! I played thirteen strait hours against the Japs on the AOL server. It has NO glitches at all. Though there are some screens where there should be a loader instead of just stoping(I was ready to restart after watching the beginning movie to the end just in time for a thirty second wait instead of a loading screen). I like the way you pick your person. You pick the name then the ?date?, the avatar of your person in the uppear left hand corner(!You can get one online and save it to the HDD and upload to the game!), you pick the characters sex and race(along with that your job state), it will go to an ISP input screen but your ISP settings should already be in there from the HDD after getting online, and you attach to the server and is teleported to a location. It's pretty long just starting but is well worth the wait.
I have screenshots of my journey getting online and pretty soon playing here at my site. Thanks.
