about a year ago i had a P4 1.6 comp with a 16x max cdr/w, but it could burn CD's at 24x....WTF.... it said something like super burn activated and burn at 24x...but its a 16x burner

Hmm, mine has done that, it means that they have mismarked it, and is actually the speed it says that it's burning at. LOL, at least that's how I understand it.
