They make it ez for stupid ppl to make a site without knowing anything while all the real webmasters are working hard making the site. I think most of them are just wasted space on the internet...

I have to agree with that. Real webmasters use the raw code, not programs or sites that do it for them

I use Geocities only 'cos its there, its free, and um... Well, I've had webspace there since I got the net, basically. Just recently I changed me page there to link to all me other sites, click here to see it (funky Flashiness).

I don't see why you HATE geocities and angelfire! So you are saying we should punish people for finding HTML stuff etc difficult? You are saying we should punish people for not spending money on expensive web hosts? Many geocities sites are quite good, and they provide a quick and easy way for the less computer literate to get their voices heard. But you are entitled to your own opinion, who am I to say otherwise?

Sorry, got a bit rant-crazed there. I know that overall Geo and Angelfire are awful sites that use every excuse to put ads on sites, but they provide a useful service to many people who otherwise would be unable to put up a site.

    I, myself, believe that Geocities is a good start to the beginning webmaster. Look at myself; I used Geocities back five years ago and now I design sites for money and other reasons and do one hell of a job at it. I do not argue the fact though seems how people have their opinion and gosh I don't want to get into that. But I do think the need of a small, free, online database system could help the beginning webmaster get started.

Though Angelfire and Geocities is out there they don't provide the space for CGI so in all cases you are limited. Thanks for hearing me out. Peace, and once again, no offence.
