Hey, does anyone know a good webhost?
I have purchased my own domain (http://www.shumivillage.com/) but it is currently hosted by 69megs (which stinks >_<)...
And all the hosts I have seen are like $50 a month!!
Can you please help me? |

Ah, grab a Slovak-English dictionary (go to Yahoo.com and search for one), and mosey on over to http://www.host.sk - unlimited free space (apparently), no adverts, and FTP upload. Has everything really, for free! Except instructions in English... But what the hey, its worth it. I host my website there - http://www.the-ragnarok.net .

I'm with them, and am quite satisfied. 200 MB, 10 GB bandwidth, 10 MySQL dbases, 10 subdomains, your own Control Panel, and only $9.95 a month. No severe problems really, compared to most other webhosts. Overall great, fast support and setup times. |

Thats costly for non-working types like myself. I like my free account - only had one problem so far where the site was down for like an hour.
And whats with the and ? Are they s'posed to activate finger smilies or somethin'? They not work.

yeah, afterlab being REALLY slow on that one...
and are to be thumbs up/down icon-smilies, but afterlab still hasn't implemented those.. *grumble grumble*
anyway...
Costly? $9.95 costly?! Dude, it's like the cheapest hosting available with these features! Nearly all other sites charge at least twice as much!
Free hosts don't generally offer you any real features, aside of that weird host.sk (which is rather incomprehensible, though). |

I'm not bothered, its got everything I need - plenty space, no banners, FTP uploadingage, and (dunno if this is only applicable with certain hosts or not) php scripting usageness. 'Tis all I need, no fancy cgi-bin stuff (don't need it - way beyond my level of HTMLing), or 'Frontpage Extensions' - heck, I use notepad!

I would like a domain, and I certainly have the money, but my duties at school pull me down. I am going to a private school, and I commute to my house everyday after normal school hours have ended. It takes an hour to get to school and an hour back, so I really don't have that much free time. In case you're curious, the times are:
6:00 - Get up for school. Ugh.
6:55 - Van to school arrives. Noisy and stuck up popular kids on the van. Takes an hour to get to school. Stuck with the kids. >.<
7:50 - Get to school. Relief. 4 class periods, two free periods (I dropped one of my classes).
7:50 - 5:30 - School hours. Class, lunch, social time. Activities after school, last from 3:00 to about 4:30.
5:30 - Leave on van.
6:30 - Arrive at home. Exhasted. Take a nice warm shower ...
Eat, do homework until about 10:00. Really tired. Collapse into bed. Start the whole thing over again the next day, mon-fri...
So you see, I really don't have time to do anything, much less manage a domain. And I usually have homework on the weekends too, but I manage to get on all the same. Whew, this is a long post!
Yea, so maybe when I get out of school for the summer I'll register a domain, probably the feature attraction being Final Fantasy. Afterlab will have another affiliate to add!
K I'm done. I know that was a really long post, but I felt I had to explain my schedule to everyone. Most people don't believe me when I say I don't have time, but with a schedule like that... |

Uhhh....I think I'll pass, Crono....
Eraph: I searched, but I couldn't find any dictionaries that can translate an entire site, just one word at a time.... >_<
KuraFire: Okie, I'll make sure to check them out now!! |
