With Final Fantasy XIII releasing in Japan in a little over a month, the question of how much the game will sell has arose and Yoichi Wada seems sure that it will be a big hit for the company.
Using the sales patterns of FFX and FFXII as a basis for his confidence, if FFXIII sells to the same percentage as users did before, the game will sell millions. (Check the source for a more detailed breakdown of the numbers)
Wada also stated that with PS3 and FFXIII being bundled together, the user base will grow as well meaning higher sales too.
It'll sell well in japan, but I'm not so sure about here. If everyone's like me, and they should be, then they'll have had the same reaction I did to the FF13 trailer;
"what?"
There's only so much "l'Cie" and cocoon nonsense I can take before I get annoyed, and that trailer fulfilled that quotient and then some.
yeah, I thought most people didn't like it. I don't think I've seen any of the trailers or ads for xiii. all I know is that there are like 2 of them. these guys are terrible at numbering games.
