Taken from front page: Final Fantasy IV DS Remake Update - Final Fantasy Republic
Nintendo Power's upcoming May Issue has been leaked around the Internet already with the reincarnation of Final Fantasy IV virtually assured to be coming to the West.
Our affiliate site, Forever Fantasy, has some translations from an interview with the original director of FFIV, Takashi Tokita, who lets slip that he is working on a new undertaking:
"I'm currently working on an unannounced title that's being developed on a scale no different than that of the original FF4, and I hope North American gamers will give it a try."
Below are some of the excerpts from the translated interview regarding the remake:
-This remake will be hardest and most difficult version of FFIV
-Abilities such as Cry, Pray have been given a significant boost to make them more useful
-'Tricks' people could use against Bosses wont work anymore, as the Bosses have been rebalanced
-Auto Battle System- Give a character a command or assign an action and they will continue to carry it out.
-In the FFIV Advance, there were the Lunar Ruins included. They wont be in this version. The remake on DS will have a New Game+ which will include more augments and optional Bosses.
- Fans of FFIX might recognise the word Eidolon. Eidolon will be the term used to represent and use Summon.
- Only 25% of the original story is sued due to space limitations.
