Taken from front page: Wada: Dragon Quest IX May Push FFXIII To 2009 - Final Fantasy Republic

The release of Dragon Quest IX may be a factor in whether Final Fantasy fans will see the eagerly anticipated Final Fantasy XIII this year or 2009.

Square Enix president Yoichi Wada spoke to Nikkei Trendy and he seems to suggest that having two big games coming out in the same fiscal year could hurt Square Enix in the long run- especially when it comes to stocks.

As it seems Dragon Quest IX is nearly finished, it will obviously be released first which would mean in delay in when FFXIII could come out too. So those rumours of FFXIII being available this year seem highly unlikely.
