Ok, maybe not "shock and amaze", but Square Enix has announced, by way of Dengeki magazine, that a surprise announcement reguarding the franchise will be made later this year.
Final Fantasy, which made it's Japanese debut on December 18, 1987 has ballooned into a huge money-maker for the company, selling more than 60 million copies of its various title worldwide since the series began way back when.
No details have made themselves known regarding this surprise announcement, nor do we have any clear idea of when the announcement will actually be made.
However, Square Enix has made it abundantly clear that they enjoy watching their fans writh in obssessive torment, drowning in their own tears of uncontrollable anticipation. They announced that they will eventually make an announcement, for crying out loud!
WHY MUST YOU TORTURE US SQUARE ENIX? WHY?!
