Square-Enix and Sony announced earlier today that the English version of Advent Children has reached 1.4 million units sold. 1.3 million units have been shipped in North America alone, and more than 100,000 units in Europe. These totals include both the DVD and UMD versions of the English dub. Combined with sales of the Japanese version of the movie, Advent Children has reached a grand total of 2.4 million units sold worldwide.

Square Enix expects sales to continue to increase when the various European-language dubs hit shelves. The French-language version was released June 7.

So, in other words, it won't be long before another movie is made.

Talking about overrated. It definitely didn't deserve to get sold that many.

I found it a good movie in terms of visuals and action. Story was a bit meh, but overall it was a neat movie. I'm not surprised it sold that often, also considering the huge popularity of FFVII, right now and in the past.

The thing I'd like to know though is how many of that figure was DVD or UMD. I've herd the UMD was highly unpopular.
