Final Fantasy XIII - Inspired by Advent Children
----
7th June 2006

Frontpage Article here: Final Fantasy XIII - Inspired by Advent Children

Though opinions amongst fans are often divided when it comes to the Advent Children movie, there's little denying that, at least visually, it brought something unique to the table. It's fluid, beautifully orchestrated, out of this this world actions scene set a very high standard for CG projects, and something that most games (or even movies) could only hope to emulate to the same scale.

Square Enix seems to believs it's up to the task of taking this level of technical wizardy, and putting it directly in the hands of the gamer. In a recent interview, FFXIII director Motomu Toriyama stated, "FFXIII attempts to see how far it's possible to make FFVII Advent Children's battles into a game. FFVII Advent Children is a video production, and it showed us battles that have not been achievable in FF so far. With FFXIII, we're focusing on how far we can realize the video."

The company are looking to have playable code ready in time for next year's E3. This is a rather suprising move on Square Enix's part, since both the Tokyo Game Show and the December Jump Vesta even come earlier in the gaming caledar than E3 does.

Does this mean us western gamers are going to get a taste of Final Fantasy XIII before our eastern cousins do? The signs are certainly promising, at least. We'll have to wait and see...

If it actually looks that visually impressive, I'm going to be mightily impressed. Let's hope they don't sacrifice storyline and character development in the interests of ubar leet graphics though.

We all know that's the only reason we wanted to watch Advent Children... to see Tifa again.

Ok, honestly if they can create dynamic fighting scenes to the calibur of Advent Children, Storyline can be superficial to non exsistant for all I care. It wouldn't have to be more complicated than 'I think we should fight.' 'I agree' *Fights, Chaos has extended thirty hour orgasm and game ends.*

I mean, did AC have a plot? Really? Did it? Think about that. But how ****ing awsome was Cloud's omnislash. On a scale of Brilliant to Jizztastic, I rate it as Orgazmalicious.
