The latest issue of Gemanga (formerly Dorimanga) has let slip some small, but interesting, tidbits of info on the first Final Fantasy game for the PS3... Final Fantasy XIII.
- Weapon designs are being handled by Tetsu Tsukamoto, who worked on FFX-2
- The scenarios are 80% complete.
- The game will include vehicles, and the development team is considering using the PS3 controller's motion detection functions.
- The yellow stripes on the female character's left should indicate rank and social status.
- The game will include the usual exploration of cities, and plenty of NPCs.
- The woman seen in the E3 trailer is not the main character, but she will have a prominent role.
- The woman in the trailer is described as strong and independent.
There's been no mention yet of details of FF Versus XIII or FF Agito XIII.
Just because she isn't the main character, doesn't instantly mean the main character's going to be male. True, the only other character we know of is a dude, but it's not confirmed wether he's the main character either. Hell, it's not even confirmed wether he's a playable character in XIII itself, afaik.

Gah, I didn't even consider that possibility. You're right, we should wait a little while until more details are out.
