Taken from front page: More Compilation FFVII To Come

Square-Enix president 'Youichi Wada', during a recent conference has produced many hints towards more production in the Final Fantasy VII compilation. He mentioned many interesting facts, such as the FFVII compilation is earning Square-Enix plenty of money, exactly 17.8 billion Yen for the year 05/06. The compilation sales have reached at least 50 billion yen thus far.

Youchi Wada confirmed that the FFVII should be alive for two decades, being ten years from now. This decision was made at the current franchise of the compilation.

It's hard to know how to intepret this news.

On one side, it may just be a case that they believe it'll last that long, much like the original game did. On the other hand, the mobile version of Dirge of Cerberus game wasn't originally planned as part of the compilation, so it may be that the Compilation is going to be bringing out more released that haven't yet been announced.

A Final Fantasy VII sequel is looking more likely by the day, isn't it?

When he says it'll be alive for two decades, we should take into account that this does't necessarily mean they'll be pumping the milk straight out of the FFVII teat for the next ten years. I mean what could they possibly do? A remake, an anime series, maybe a manga. That's it.

I think that this statement basically means the compilation will be successful for 10 years, just like FFVII has been for the last 10.

Mind you, Square are whores, so there's a chance I'm wrong and they will milk it for 10 years. God I hope not.

I never thought I'd start to feel sick of FFVII. All this stuff is slowly eating away at my love for it. Some things should just be left as they are.

Indifferent about this all.
I'd like to see new technologies and not so much more remakes.

hmm... i sincerely hope that they aren't planning on making more and more and more out of this. i like the idea of a compilation, making ffVII it's own mini-series or whatever, but they need to put a lot of time and thought into it. but in the same breath, i don't want to see too much done with it. maybe a prequel, and maybe an anime outlining the entire compilation, beginning to end *make separate seasons out of each segment like* and be done with it.
