More Fabula Nova Crystallis - FFXIII Titles to be Developed

According to German gaming site GameFront.de, who was on-hand for comments made by Square Enix president Yoichi Wada at a business conference in Japan, the Final Fantasy XIII triolgy is going to be twice as big.
Yes, good ol' Square-Enix is, in fact, planning not three... not four... but SIX titles to populate their Fabula Nova Crystallis project (Gamefront has made a niftly little diagram, below). The company is, apparently, taking a long term look (they're hoping to make the project span the next 10 years) at milking FFXIII for all it's worth. At the same meeting, by the way, they mentioned that they viewed Final Fantasy VII as a 20 year project, implying that we haven't seen the last of the Compilation just yet.
Thus far, the announced installments for Fabula Nova Crystallis include Final Fantasy XIII (PS3), Final Fantasy Versus XIII (PS3), and Final Fantasy XIII Agito (mobile phone). GameFront is speculating that another of the six titles will be Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII, for which Square-Enix has requested a trademark in the U.S.

Jesus H. Christ. Not sure whether I'm fond of this or not. I guess it depends on how good the original FFXIII is as to whether it's a good thing or not  |

Wow. 6 games? 10 years? Not sure how keen I am on this.... t's easy to get bored of something. I'd prefer new FFs. I guess it depends on how good FFXIII actually is.
And 20 years of FFVII? 
So that's until about 2017. That to me hints at the possibility of a remake if they're devoting that much time to it. |

I agree on every time someone says 'insane' or a synonim to that word in this thread.
WTF is SE thinking, that they can exploit their FF games to an extent like this without the market collapsing in on themselves? Twenty years of sucking FFVII dry? Ten years of sucking XIII dry?
On one hand, they could have a big market in here - if they truly believe the fanbase is strong enough for them to actually buy parts of the various compilations. On the other, they're nuts for even attempting that.
Btw, could someone give a rudamentary translation on that diagram? I'm interested in that one apparent spinoff from AC, or at least something that looks like one.
They're either nuts or geniusses. They either know their franchise and brand is strong enough to be able to sell loads of products to the masses, or they're just guessing and will lose a lot of money on it. Somehow, I believe it's the former. |

I'm working on it. But my Japanese ain't that good, so it's taking a while.

| Well, I've asked this before and I'll ask again. Why the **** are they milking something that isn't even out yet!? Instead of pouring all this effort into compilations of FFVII, and FFXIII spinoffs, maybe start production on FFXIV with some decent writers and Amano as a character designer!? |
