I'm assuming that everyone will be flaming each other too much in this thread, so that's why I didn't post it in Balamb Gardens. If any mods feel this should be moved, sorry for the inconvenience.
It's now legal for homos to marry each other in Massechusetts. Lawmakers want to have it ourteuned in '05 by putting it on the voting ballot. What do you guys think about the whole situation?
Frankly, I don't think the ruling will stand. I just don't feel that 1) Gay marriages will recieve enough support, 2) Bush's proposal for a 28th ammendment is justified and will pass, and 3) No one can come from another state to get married in Boston. Which means that all the legal marriages are all crammed inside this one tiny state. It is the only state that makes this legal, which means rights extending to adopting a child or medical insurence is void anywhere else in the country. |

I am very pro homosexual. Alot of my friends are gay or bisexual, and for a time, I thought I was bisexual.
Anyone here who is a homophobe can choke to death. You are ignorant and a worthless piece of **** if you honestly think they should have less rights than anyone else. It's people like you who make this world such a piece of ****. Die. Now.
Go Homosexuality. |

Oh no! Somebody gave gay people the right to marry! How can we maintain their second class status now? You know that gay people are responsible for everything that's wrong with the world!!!![/sarcasm]
It's a shame that I don't live in Massachusetts, because I'd vote whoever passed that law right back into office. |

Doop doop.
I've yet to hear a single valid argument against homosexual marriage that doesn't invoke religious beliefs, and if you scroll down that list there's a scathing rebuttal of invoking religious beliefs against homosexuality. Furthermore, invoking religious beliefs as a reason to outlaw homosexual marriage would violate the separation of church and state; while one could argue both ways, the state isn't forcing the church to recognise homosexual marriages as valid. It's not harming anyone either, so I can't for the life of me understand why everyone's making such a big deal out of it. Some people are so closed-minded. |
