Default  Bastard game, make me lose teeth will you?

I was just playing Ninja Gaiden which I bought today when I was in a boss fight and got hammered by a bloke with a **** off weapon on a horse well being pounded by some magic attack. I'm about to kill the horse bloke when he rides off and hits me bloke square in the face which kills me. Pissed off and not wanting to smash me game pad, I grab the nearest to me which happened to be a rubber, and for some reason I decided to just put it in my mouth and bite down, but being pissed off greatly (I've been going at it for an hour and a half) I bit down half way through and just tore it out of my mouth, sadly, two back teeth came out with it which caused a great deal of pain and blood to ensue.

Moral of the story; Don't get pissed off at a game and bite on a rubber to help you deal with it, it just makes things worse.

It's not laziness, it's a strong belief in the conservation of effort.

I can understand your grief. I used to become extremely frustrated at games, to the point where I wouldn't even care about my own well-being or the well-being of the objects around me. A few examples I can recall:

- Leg busted off of a Macross Mech figure after being slammed on the floor
- Paper tray snapped off of my printer
- Keyboard/mouse ledge that rolls out from desk was broken off its track a few times. Currently, where the screw holds the track into the side of the desk, the hole for the screw is all shredded, so the screw slips out sometimes
- Analog stick on a PSX controller ripped out somehow, and the vibrator inside is broken out of its holding position
- Simulation flight yoke is practically unusable, a gear inside snapped, I think
- The plug part on a good pair of headphones ripped apart from pulling it out of my headphone slot too forcefully

That's all I can really think of. You're not alone with the biting stuff, but I usually went to bite my pillow and rip a chunk out of it, unsuccessfully. It sucks though, because after you break something, the rage goes away so quickly, and you're just disgusted at yourself for losing control. I guess it's better to take out the rage on inanimate objects rather than people, though.

I used to get really pissed off at games when I lost. I've gotten over it for the most part. It's just things like that stupid butterfly mini-game in FFX that bother me, but they don't bother me to the point of rage; I just find them annoying (and usually don't bother completing them; too much effort).

When I get to an annoyingly difficult part in a game I usually stop playing the game for a few months, go back to it eventually and for some reason it's suddenly easy by then.

Exactly. A prime example of this is with MGS2. I hit a wall when trying to beat the harrier jet on the hardest difficulty. I literally tried about fifty times before I gave up on it. Then, I came back to it about four months later, and beat it on the first try. I think the problem was that I was so used to a certain strategy that I wasn't thinking to try anything else. But when I came back, I found out that you're completely safe on the stairway when the harrier is firing the missiles at the other side, and proceeded to beat it easily, and probably won't have trouble with it ever again.

Also, on Substance, the last level of the grenade launcher was horrible. But I came back after a few months and beat it easily on a harder difficulty.
