Righto then, I'll try and spiffy it up to make it look presentable, because as it stands its just an idea that once lived in my head that I moved out into notepad.
Roleplay Name: Year Unknown
World Name: Earth
Technology Level: 22nd Century technology, but sparse. Cars exist in plentiful quantities, whereas fuel is the problem. Oil is rare and prized above life it-
self. Planes don't litter the sky - at all, nor will they. Roads are either long and not well kept, or they are non-existant, as the tar that once held the
road together has deteriated much. Any device that it is of any technological level runs off either fuel, solar power, or electricity (which as a sidenote,
doesn't exist anymore). Alternate sources of power are known throughout the world, but those who know of it use it for ambitions purposes and would chose not
to share in it's usefulness. Money is useless. More or less. If anyone has a coin, or a note, or any form of what was once a currency, they would either not
know or remember what it was for. If they do know/remember, then it still wouldnt matter. Trade is the only way to get what you want. Object for object.
Slaves included.
Guns are plentiful, in all shapes and sizes. They aren't as formally labelled the way they once were, but more just dubbed as 'Guns'. Ammunition is almost as common as a gun. No one who wants to live for more than a few hours in some of the bigger outposts doesn't have a gun and a store of ammo.
Maturity Level: This is a mture RP, drugs are plentiful, prostitutes are existant and are available to players. Obviously
that's left in the discretion of a player to not be obscene about things like this. This is the real world as it is. These things are out there, may as well
acknowledge it. Swearing should be verily acceptable to players.
Story: In the year 2034, wars raged. Silently, as they were political wars. Armies were deployed, innocents were killed, countries were ****ed over.
But the end was in sight. All thought peace would come once it was over, that the war would see us all in a new age. All wars do come to an end it's true.
What end is it when missiles are launched by all the great powers of the world?
To say the least, Earth was utterly pulvarised. What was left was a scorched land, not fit for anything save roach's and maybe piles of ****.
But Humans are to adapt. We have to. As ****ed up as it is, over 200 years, the pollution became worse, but bearable. Survivors bred, even though they were
diseased, their skin was like a corpse's. Breath stank like garbage. New plagues emerged, different ways of fighting them, new medicines. Humans adapt.
There came a point when we lost track of time, years merged, hours ended, minutes dwindled, and none of it was important. Life just happened, because it had
to. Endurance over-rode life. Living was a chore. Those who claimed to have knowledge of medicines tried to heal the sick, only to become sick.
No one actually knows how long it took us to adapt to the point we are at now. The radiation sickness that used to plague us doesn't bother us anymore, we
treat it as we do a common cold. In fact, it has become the new source of the common cold. The seasons have changed alot since then. No winter, most people
forget what it was like to be cold. The sun blazes relentlessly. Humans develop skills that their ancestors taught them, and they adapt to what tools they
have. Repairing cars, finding fuel sources, energy sources.
The world goes on, as it always has. But what now? Where does the Human race have left to go?
I've read over all your current RP's and for the most part felt I'd be intruding on something already set up, but I also didn't have the patience to wait for a fresh RP to kick up.
This RP wouldn't have anything fancy like magic, or alternative races (only humans, and as ugly as they are). But minds will explore possibilities, swords and whatnot are cool for a setting like this.
Again, this is an idea, so it can be improved if anyone is interested. |

Since all RP threads in this forum are dead, maybe some people would like to start a new one? If enough people want to join I'll start one up. I'm used to pen 'n paper games, but I'm curious how this thing works online.

Since I'm not as fanboyish as some other FF fans 'round here I would go for a custom game world, since I'm not a walking FF encyclopedia or have great knowlegde about one of the FF game worlds. I've played Dungeons and Dragons for several years, so I've got lots of experience with high fantasy type games but none with sci-fi/high tech themed games.
I wanted to see if there was any interest and what kind of games people would like here and design a game on the type of world that everyone wants to play in. For myself, I always wanted to try a game with both monsters and magic but also modern technology and weapons, a bit like FF VIII. If more people are interested I'll work out the details. |
