Default  SeeD, the next generation.

Galbadia, Balamb and neighboring countries have lived in peace for nearly four decades. The three military academies, or Gardens, of the planet have successfully trained generations of elite mercenaries. These soldiers, or SeeDs, take on contracta in various regions, protecting weaker communities.

The following is an rp that some good friends have asked me to bring back to the Republic. So here it is. As with any forum roleplay all members must follow the guidelines set down by the forum. I don't tolerate god modding, i don't tolerate personal arguements seeping into the roleplay, and 'every' character, no matter how tough, can take an injury!!

All the magics used in SeeD have to be the original ff8 magics and the world in which the roleplay is set, is the exact one used in the game. I'm only looking to accept 8 other members besides myself and the other instructor that i have agreed to take on. The roleplay is set a good 20 - 25 years after Final Fantasy 8 was set. Other than that though, have fun!

Name: Celeste
Age:23
Rank: Instructor (all joining members, new and old, will begin as SeeD trainees)
Specialist weapon: Hand blades (Like the ones that Kiros used)
Appearance: Celeste is a mature and smart looking young woman. Her hair is of a dark raven black and her eyes shine a beautiful ocean blue. The contrast of her hair against her skin makes it appear a lot paler than it truly is. Her body is curved and toned nicely and she stands around 5'10. She wears a few silver earrings up the length of her ears which are often on show as she braids her hair neatly back behind her head. When on duty in the Garden Celeste is often seen in nothing other than her black SeeD uniform and a pair of flat black boots.
Biography: Celeste went to Galbadia Garden at the age of 15, sent by her parents, and begun weapons training straight away. She begun as a junior classman and passed her SeeD exam just after she turned 17. At 19 she took her instructors examination and passed first time with an incredible accuracy. When she turned 21 she was transferred to Balamb Garden to fill the position of the previous instructor before her. (Please keep your biographies at a short length.)

************************************************

"...and what do we always need to remember?"

"A Seed always puts the welfare of the innocent first," the junior classmen recited together. Celeste beamed brightly at them, they all showed potential for future Seed candidates.

"Thats right, class dismissed for today, i have a class of SeeD trainee waiting outside my classroom that i need to prepare. Remember your homework for tomorrow, and don't forget that the training grounds are strictly off limits to junior classmen." The class of young boys and girls rose to their feet and hurried out of the classroom and off towards the cafeteria for their lunches. After tidying a few of the notes on her desk Celeste strolled over to the large windows and gazed down at the SeeD sitting around on the grass in the sunlight below. She could already see three of them who aught to have been on their way up to her classroom already.

She sighed aloud to herself, she could not begrudge them for their reluctance to bring themselves inside on such a beautiful day. She continued to sit on the window ledge until a firm knock at the door brought hedr back from her day dreams.

"Come in.."

Weston (Wes) Smith

Weapon: Dual Revolvers. (Pistols, get the name? God I'm cheesy)

Appearance: 5'7, Medium length Dark Brown hair, eighteen years old. Has a pention for wearing long coats, heavy boots and sunglasses. He is a natural with a deck of cards and can often be found in the cafeteria playing with the other students who are not so good. Occasionally, people notices that small articles go missing when he is around and well. (The long coat, remember?) He has failed one exam already because he is extreemly selfish and liable to go whichever way is going to see him profit the most.

Basically, imagine him looking like this guy from gladiator, but a lot scruffier.

http://www.ejumpcut.org/archive/jc45...badrulercu.jpg

Weston Smith’s Biography.

Effectively Orphaned at three years old due to having defective parents, he was adopted by the Galbadian Social services. Growing up in Old Deling City, (Which was left ravaged by the Sorceress war. When Squall and party beat the Sorceress Ultimecia, Galbadia was split by a civil war. Deling City had been the last stand of the Galbadian forces still loyal to the Sorceress.) Wes was educated in violence and petty theaft. He was small and weak, but he was smart, and so he would be the little kid in the gang who always came up with the brilliant ideas, ideas like, ‘Hey, see that guy selling hotdogs? You guys go up and do a dine and dash and the rest of us will make off with his cart. Then we can be well fed when we go vandalise old man what’s his face’s place.’
Wes addapted quickly to a life of crime, which was rampant in Old Deling City. He knew he could never be physically strong, so he honed his mind instead. He taught himself basic math out of a discarded text book and practiced adding small sums with receipts, calculating the taxes and totals in his head. This easilly transfered into his skills with cards. He learned to be quick with his hands and to spot tells and became a master of the Triple Triad.
It was in his capacity as a Card Sharp that he finally got into serious trouble. At seventeen, he was recruited to be the distraction by a gang who wanted to pull a bank job. The idea was that Wes would set himself up right outside the bank and get attract a huge crowd so that when the vault was blown from behind the bank, there would be a huge panicky crowd there when the security arrived and the gang could make off with the money through the sewers.
The whole thing was a ****up however and the gang was caught, one of them was even shot dead. In return for leniency, the gang ratted on him before he could make good his escape from Deling and he was arrested at the train station with an awful lot of stollen property, watches and jewlery and the like.
Seeing as he was not a violent offender and because he was still a minor, the Judge gave him a choice. He could go to Galbadia Garden and train to become a soldier in the Galbadian army, or he could spend the next four years in prison.
At Galbadia Garden, he excelled with the pistol, but he was careful to hide that fact, not wanting to appear to be good at anything. He would make sure to take careful aim with each shot and make sure it always hit nicely outside the bull’s eye. He didn’t even need to pretend to be bad with any other weapon because he was. Swords were too heavy, and besides, what good is a sword when you’ve just been shot in the head from fifty paces? He spat when ever he even thought about using a gunblade. That was a knight’s weapon. Knights were idiots.
The only two knights that they talked about in Garden were Squall Leonheart and Seifer, and they had both been idiots. The only reason Squall was praised was because, in the end, it had all worked out, but his motivation was stupid, and pourly thought out. He’d fought his little war with the Sorceress for what? Because of some girl. Millions of people dead and for what? One girl? Well, that was Seifer’s story too except he’d been on the Galbadian side of it, and of course, he’d lost.
Garden instructors liked to use those two as examples of good people who can make good choices, or bad ones, but Wes thought that they were both stupid people making stupid choices.
After a year at Galbadia Garden, Wes had pretty much adapted to his surroundings, cheating students and the occasional professor at cards, although, they all played so badly he barely had to cheat. He made a steady influx of cash by converting his extra cards with Guardian Forces, which he would always have to steal. He made sure not to pass his exam but not to fail badly enough to get kicked out either, but wether he was at Garden or in jail, he was still a prisoner.
Finally, his chance to escape came in the form of a student exchange with Balmb Garden. Security at Balmb was notoriously lax and from Balmb it would be a quick boat ride to Dollet, and freedom.

Wes sat back in his chair and grinned to himself. He tended towards grinning. Especially when he had the distinct impression that he was the smartest person in the room.

'Look at all these suckers.' He thought to himself as he looked around the classroom at the backs of students who were hunched over thier computer desks, fastidiously jotting down ever single word the tiresome instructor was saying.

And what is the correct proceedure when dealing with clients who refuse to pay for services? He mouthed in unison with the Prof. rolling his eyes as he did so.

'Wes?' She asked. 'perhaps you'd like to enlighten the class on the correct proceedure.'

'I always find a quick chop to the base of the spine to be the most effective solution.' He grinned.

Name: Iggy Lightjuno
Age: unknown - but appears to be in his mid 20's
Rank: SeeD Trainee
Specialist weapon
: a wooden stick that hides a blade in it, and a pistol of unknown design.
Appearance
: Iggy is a silent strong man, standing 6'5 his body well toned and has many scared from his battles over the years. Mostly Iggy wears a red sleeveless shirt, navy training pants and a pair of black leather boots with grey laces. Iggy also carries a brown leather bag which holds his personal belongings and 3 chains around his neck. One is slightly grey metal and short, the second is a black leather cord in which a wooden cross has been attached, and the third is a long black cloth band in which a strange device has been attach to, the nature of the device is of yet unknown.

Iggy also has a tattoo on his back that has a tribal symbol and the words "Simper FI" above it.

Biography: growing up in a small town near the south of balam, Iggy found war a very common thing. At the age of 7 his grandfather taught him the art of fighting and how to use a gun in battle; later on he learned different magical abilities from an old mage lady near his town. At 9 he joined the Garden at Galbadia to become a soldier. Later he left to become a mercenary and fought along side seeD's for a number of years, now he has joined the seeD at Balamb to become a seeD himself.-

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As the transport arrives at the garden Iggy looked out his window at the beauty of this new place. "Ah, I like it already" he said as he grabbed his bags and headed to the center of the garden. He noticed many new people there and most of them were younger than he, making him feel dated he threw his bag over his shoulder and headed to the classroom he was assigned to.
Hitting the elevator button Iggy got in with two other young cadets, "you new here?" they asked Iggy as he turned down the music on his ipod. "Yes, I just arrived today from Galbadia. Can you please show me where I can find Miss Celeste class room please." the two pointed towards the third door on right at the second level.
Exiting the elevator Iggy walked to the door and knocked on it before entering.
A beautiful young woman greeted him at the desk when he walked in; she smiled and nodded her head as he walked over to her desk.

"You must be Miss Celeste; I am Iggy Lightjuno from the garden of Galbadia. It’s a pleasure to meet you; I look forward to train here."

Iggy said as he shook her hand and then kissed the top of it.
Walking to his desk, Iggy sat his bag beside his chair and then turned on the computer......
"Ah, the new model is out I see, this should be interesting"
Iggy smiled as he started looking up guardian forces and magic on the screen.

Four 'O Clock, end of the day, thank god. What a long boring affair it had been too, although, thought Wes, not entirely worthless. He'd enjoyed ecconomics. He always did. It was a hard and fast rule he lived by, to know all the rules of the games people played, so that he could know exactly how to cheat. Playing was for other people. He liked to win.

He was feeling anxious however. He'd been transfered from Galbadia Garden on an exchange program, to compare the training of the soldiers and the SeeDs essentially, but he had no desire to go back there. It might be a very nice prison, but it was a prison all the same and he longed to be free again. But of course, first he needed to get at his savings, because freedom without money was no kind of freedom he wanted to be a part of.

Oh well, he needed to take his mind off this because he had plans for tonight that needed taking care of. First things first, to get a hold of a Guardian Force interface. Obviously, Garden never let him use them unsupervised because there is no telling what a criminal might do with one, but there were ways
of getting what you needed around here.

The Celeste groupies. Oh what a terrible bunch of suckers those sad people were. Wes made a mental note about one of the other Galbadian Exchange students, a big moron by the name of Iggy had swooned at her and mentally lumped him in with the group for a latter time. But right now, he approached his mark were the young student sat staring off into space.

'Hey there.' Wes waved to the kid he'd nicknamed Groupie number 3 'you up for a game?' Wes asked, holding up his deck of triple triad cards, his newly aquired Celeste card at the bottom of the deck. Wes watched the kids eyes light up at the sight of it. Sucker, Wes thought, You're mine.

Wes played a couple of games to start off and Wes dealt himself his 'B' deck. He didn't want to scare the kid off by playing his 'A' hand. Of course, they were using the Random Draw, but that didn't matter to a sharp like Wes. He made sure to loose the odd hand too to keep the kid hungry.

Finally, after a few games and after the Kid thought he had Wes's tell down, (Like how Wes would always twidle his lucky pendant before playing a clever move. He'd tried being less obvious about it but the kid was really slow) Wes pulled out his Celest card and played it on the first round. Instantly, the Kid began to sweat, his eyes never leaving the card.

'Come on, it's top left, and has a rating of ten on the east side, just take the damn Card, I left it open for you!' Wes tried not to let his smirk fade. The kid was seriously bad at cards. Finally, and with almost perceptible baiting, Wes managed to let the kid win the Card off him.

'Wow, good games.' Wes said standing up and offering his hand, his expression radiating honesty. 'I'll have to play you again sometime.'

'Yeah, sure...' Said the Kid distractedly as he stared at his prized possesion and wandered off to the dorms. He didn't pay the least amount of attention to the fact that his GF controller had suddenly gone missing, or that Wes was Grinning again.

(Just as a note to you all who will join this, that this is my first RP, so if for whatever reason I'm doing something that's complettely stupid or dumb, just yell at me or something.)

"Ah I see, so these GF's are spiritual creatures that live along side its owner... and they can give the owner power to use magic... interesting."
Iggy said as he clicked through the files on the computer.
As the day wore on Iggy noticed more people joining the classroom and greeted one or two that seemed friendly towards him.
Iggy also noticed that one of his classmates was playing cards with one of the other cadets.
Ever so closely Iggy watched as they dismissed the game and one went walking off back to his seat.
"Interesting, that guy could have beat that other kid I do believe... then again he might just be that bad of a card player."

Iggy's attention then turned to his ipod in his pant's pocket,
since class wasn't in full swing yet Iggy popped the headphones on and started listening to some meditation music.
"Odd, that song is a new one on me lol... but......"
Iggy then saw Wes playing with what looked to be a GF controller in his hands...
Iggy knew full well that new students didn't get these until much later in the tests...
walking over to where wes was Iggy tapped him gently on the shoulder and asked nicely
"could you please tell me the time dude"
wes looked down at his watch to tell Iggy the time,
not knowing that Iggy secretly took his GF controller, Iggy thanked him and walked back to his seat.
"So that man is a thief eh... interesting, something about him seems familiar... but o well...”

Iggy motioned to the student that just got his GF controller taken... walking over to him Iggy laid it down on his desk... smiling Iggy told him,
"be careful not to loose that, its very powerful and shouldn't fall into the wrong hands my friend.."
The Student Looked shocked that he lost in the first place and then thanked Iggy fro returning it to him...
After playing through most of the music on his ipod, Iggy turned his attention to the window in which the radiant sunlight was now pouring through....lost in deep thought Iggy stared out into the garden, taking in the beauty of nature..
"Reminds me of Galbadia before the destruction..."
Iggy laid his head in his palm and day dreamed............

A Knight. That’s what Iggy reminded him of. One of those pious little *****s always running around and saving everybody from themselves. What was the difference between a knight and a bully? The side you were on. The thought of bloody stupid morons like that made Wes want to shoot something.

He was not a violent person and he loathed actual combat. He could use his guns if he had to, but they were really just for flash. If he had to fire them he considered it a mis judgement of the situation on his part. Now, threatening to shoot, that was a different story. He was quite good at that. Still, he wasn’t sunk without the controller.

I misjudged Iggy though, He thought. I must be slipping without any good challenges. I need to get out of here, I’m getting too complacent. I need a tough mark, a really good problem, anything to work my brain again. I swear it’s like eating a diet of mental candy floss here.

Money, he needed money. He might have to dip into his off shore account for this one because cards didn’t work on everybody. Money fixed everything. If there was one thing that growing up in Deling had taught him it was that the world is divided right down the middle. Either you’ve got money or you don’t. The poor want to get rich, and the rich want to get richer, and everybody, Everybody has thier price.

‘Except for a Knight...’ He muttered under his breath. He was no longer grinning.

But Knights have other weaknesses. Knights will do what’s right because they are born with no imaginations. That’s why they can’t be bought. They can’t imagine what they’d do with a pile of gil. Wes knew exactly what he’d do with a pile of Gil. He’d make it grow.

A knight needs something to protect, it’s what he is. A knight without his Sorceress is incomplette, hes all ying and no yang. A grin wormed it’s way back across Wes’s face. Cards might not work, but he was willing to bet the pen would.

He fidgeted with his lucky pendant as he always did when he was faking a tell. He didn’t believe in luck, but he believe that others did. They could believe they lost because they thought that he was lucky. How gullible they were. Plus of course, they never noticed when he dealt from the bottom of the deck because they were watching him kiss his pendant.

Now then, where would he find Instructor Celeste at this hour exactly...
