August 2002 Issue (#1)
By afterlab on 08/01/02
=========================================
= The = First = Issue =========================
=========================================
Final Fantasy Republic will now host our own local monthly e-zine. You will be able to check back into the Republic Headquarters at the 1st of every month, and view our latest issue. All previous issues will be saved, and be accessible anytime.
=========================================
= The = Republic = Fanfare =====================
=========================================
Final Fantasy Republic is currently in a reformation. Contrary to what many have rumored across the internet, FFR isn't dead. In fact, our best time of the year is approaching -- Fall. Our staff and members are returning to the omega days that once existed to this name.
Another big reformation involved with our Fanfare is us alone, the staff. We've listened hard to what others have been saying about FFR, and strive to smooth those wrinkles out completely. By listening, our staff has already become more of a member, by being less strict on enforcing rules down to their exact words.
=========================================

=========================================
Anyone remember the site, Final Fantasy Republic, and not the forums, Final Fantasy Republic? Odds are, you probably haven't. Our site, which is based out of FFRepublic.com, is scheduled to make it's glorious return in August. With the return, you should expect more content in our existing Final Fantasy X Sector, as well more interactive features around the site.
Progress has already started on the new site version, v3.2, and will be expected to release late-August. One known feature, the News Archives have already been implemented onto our v3.1 design.
=========================================
= July = Event = Timeline =====================
=========================================
July is a month that will stand bold in Final Fantasy Republic's history books. It was a month of both creation and demolition.
July 5, 2002: Rainecloud created a fierce "Best Screen Name Tournament" in the Costa Del Sol.
July 7, 2002: The release of the Gold Saucer, which released on time, July the 7th. The Gold Saucer replaced our version of a shop, the World Map.
July 13, 2002: One of the most popular squares, License Square, released on this day.
July 18, 2002: Eternity announces the FFR Elections on the 18th. FFR Elections are forum-wide elections voted onto the forums to determine who is the Republic Political Party.
July 31, 2002: afterlab prepares Republic Fanfare; the reformation and overdrive of the staff. An event which will shape FFR forever.
=========================================
= August = Event = Preview ====================
=========================================
August is a month that will hopefully determine how strong the Republic Fanfare is within us all as a community. Respect, honors, and determination is what will keep us together. Those who are willing will become blessed.
August 9, 2002: A new contest will be created to give out Final Fantasy musical soundtracks. 2 CD's will be given out: Final Fantasy : S Generation, and Final Fantasy : N Generation.
August 25, 2002: A special, mysterious, and unknown gift will be given to the FFR community on this day. This day also marks the forums' 1 year anniversary.
August 31, 2002: The unofficial starting date for voting into the FFR Summer Repubbies (our oldest official award show).

This is great afterlab. You ought to consider making this a PDF magazine.
The August preview is pretty interesting, are you actually going to be giving away those soundtracks next month? Its good to see that the administration is still interested in FFR.
Nice, i'm looking forward to the next issue. |

len: Yes, real soundtracks will be given out, i'm not that cheap.
len and FoS: I will be working on a .doc version of it, but a .pdf would be harder for me since I don't know how to actually write them. |

Great job, Afterlab (as always). There is no way in hell I'm quitting FFR right now, and there is no way is hell these forums will disappear anytime soon.
I'm glad to stay here. |

| This is a great idea afterlab. Maybe you should sign up like a Magazine Crew to make it monthly. |
