Welcome to the Final Fantasy Republic Forums. Today, May 18, 2002, the Final Fantasy Republic Forums Battle System v1.0 was completed. The Battle System will be constantly evolving before your eyes, more versions, more upgrades, and more features back to back to back to back. To get more information on the new battle system, read below:

Requirements
###########################
In order to battle with other members, you must follow the guidelines:
- A FFR Forums member (Not banned)
- A Job Class is defined for your account
- You've equipped all item slots (Accessories are only optional)
- Your HP is not set at '0'
- You've choosen that you're available for battling (myRepublic > Edit Options)
Getting Started

To get started go to the Battle Management page (link above). Once there, click on "Add Battle" in the top-right corner. Then select your opponent and what terrain you'd like to use. After that, it'll be created.
Now.. After a battle is created, your opponent must accept the battle by selecting "Accept" for that battle in their Battle CP. When they select "Accept", you can Start the battle by clicking on "Start". Once that's done, but users can go in and click on "Battle!" and battle.
Note: Only the user who started the battle may "Start" the battle.
Note: If the opponent selects "Reject" rather then "Accept", the battle will be closed. Therefore, they don't want to battle right now.

There was a total of 3 files added to make the Battle System work. On top of that, 53 templates were made as well. If you include the Item Shops, Equip Management, and Sphere Grid (coming soon) there are a total of 89 templates and 6 files. There were also included a total of 8 new tables produced and managed in our Forums/Site database. |

I had the same problem, but all of a sudden I could select you Element.
The thing seems to have a problem, it should update as soon as the other person attacks. I attacked, then waited. I typed in a message and it said I was already dead. |
