Relaunch of Final Fantasy Republic

New Year's Day
2004
Final Fantasy Republic and its community have had a long wait and journey these past six months. Many people did not believe it was possible for us to restore it. I wish to thank those of you who encouraged and aided in restoration, inspiring us to continue working and make better the community. Thank you ZranX, Naraku, Mederu, Aerosol, Kosai, Saizuchi and Kazuki.
The process was long, and required patience and persistence to simply bring things back from their ruined state. When the site and forums were transferred to my ownership, the forums themselves were in the shambles. We’ve had to deal with corrupted tables, missing queries, missing files, and a variety of other little bumps on the road to the reopening of Final Fantasy Republic.
There is certainly an amount of honor that I have, taking over reigns of the entire site and forums. Eric Lavender or afterlab as many knew him, created Final Fantasy Republic. He was the sole founder and builder of the original site. Much of his time and creativity went into designing features for the use of the community and general public. We all owe him a bit of a tribute for having a dream and pursing it.
Eric and I worked side by side for awhile when I first registered and became a member in September 2001. In those early days when this site was just starting out, we had a very small community base of about 150 members. After looking back on how things have progressed since those days I am grateful that we’ve had so much success over the past 2 years.
Final Fantasy Republic has returned. We have tried to improve upon the original design and concept. Although the site is not entirely complete, as some of you may notice. We are working hard using deadlines to finish these major portions of what we do not currently have available.

Those of you that have been with us before, we hope that you will continue to enjoy the atmosphere of the community. On behalf of myself and the rest of the administration, I wish to thank those of you that have elected to rejoin us for the new year and a new era of Final Fantasy Republic!
I'm looking forward to making both the site and forums a more individualized experience for everyone. My longeterm goal as the new webmaster is to make this community the most advanced ever to exist, and to provide a source of great entertainment for all of our users.

So yeah, in pure layman's terms...xD
FFR's looking for a bit of a kick up the arse, and we have the very boot to administer such a booting. ^^ So that's what we're going to do, and we appreciate all the members waiting so long for FFR's return. =)
Things can only get better, no? Well, that's an understatement, since many people have spoken to me of FFR's old ways in a negative manner. Well, our main aim is to improve things for the members and generally just to make FFR a fun place to hang out. =) I know that we can do this and I hope that you guys will stay with us for this new year. I'm sure this will be FFR's finest hour/year. ^^
So yes, welcome back and enjoy having your forums back people. =D |

Well said both of you.
Many people have been doubting the return of FFR and of its new staff, but I think that the staff is well up to the job of running FFR and recreating everything that was great about it. If you are a member and reading this then you can see that no matter what everyone said, FFR is back, and back it will remain for as long as possible.
Many people have said this before but I'd just like to say welcome back to all FFR members and thank you for your patience over this hard time. All features will be restored as soon as possible and hopefully things will start to look like the FFR that we have all known and loved.
So welcome to 2004 and welcome back to FFR! |

There's nothing I can really say that has already been summarized by Mederu, Naoko, and Turks other than the fact I am eternally grateful FFR is back in business. If you can see this, then I would like to thank you for visiting our forums once again. It's because of you, the FFR member, that we have brought this forum back to life and are trying to reinstill the spirit that was once FFR. We hope you will continue to stay and make FFR your home.
Our staff, although hugely renovated, is ready to take on any challenges that come our way. We have many experienced staffers and some who are beginning to climb the ranks. Experienced or not, they are all qualified to assist you in your stay here at FFR. If you have any questions or problems, feel free to contact any of them, and they would be glad to help you all.
We apologize about the fact that the battle system no longer exists. This is a situation we have long debated on and decided to remove from Final Fantasy Republic. However, we are bringing back many of our previous features, which we hope will be a positive surrogate to the battle system and the item shop.
In summary, I'd also like to thank the staff for assisting in taking what was once just a heapload of code and transforming it back to what was once Final Fantasy Republic. I would mostly like to thank Mazen Turkmani, or ZranX (our forums executive), for working long hard nights in recreating our beloved forums. Thanks a bunch, Mazen, although you are new to these forums, your commitment to them has far surpassed those who have been here for ages. That is to be commended.
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy what we have worked hard to put back together for you. Thank you all and welcome back to Final Fantasy Republic. |

Welcome back, people.
Wonder how long it'll be before I'm banned again... 
To be honest, I definitely have my doubts about the new staff. But I guess we'll all see how they do. No sense worrying about it until they mess up. Or something.
It's nice to see the place back, I guess. This really was the only forum I ever cared about, but that was last year.
Meh, I'll babble somewhere else. See y'all around. First order of business for me...will be to update my freakin sig. *_* *cringes* |

Final Fantasy Republic has finally returned. I have awaited the return, for what it seems as to be centuries; and now it is here! I see the Gold Saucer, and the FFR card feature is gone, but if I am correct they should return in the FFRepublic Anniversary Edition. Nonetheless, I for one am glad to be back.
I would like thank all that helped restore Final Fantasy Republic. Whether it be by encouragement, or coding. Thank you all for opening the doors to home.
