If I disagree with something and I disagree vehemently all of a sudden I'm a condescending *******? You've got to be kidding me! As for Rei, sure staff politics come into play. In fact, you haven't even been here long enough to consideer Rei's position here. I think it's silly to nitpick on her quick reinstatement. She deserves it, and she's probably contributed more in a year than most ever will. Don't act like you don't know it either.
I'm not trying to be an *******, but Gav -- take a step back and look at this whole thing. You're judging my character based on this website that I reckon won't even be here for more than a few years. You also make it sound like I'm "bitter" to be an ex-staffer! I don't have time to go through all the posts but I've seen enough.
First of all, this isn't targeting you Naraku so don't get worked up about it, Your not the only admin as you said.
2. Thats fine that you tell us you do something before you do it, but thats not the point, we want you to do stuff we want also.
3. @ Everyone who said this isn't neccessary your wrong. I'm tired of making thread after thread of idea/proposal/suggestion/ectect in the staff lounge that gets completly ignored, even if most staffers agree with it, ****ing, nothing, happens. This is completly neccesary, I mean look? Something is at least happening.

| Hmm. I'm not aware of any posts made in the staff lounge so I can't comment on that one. That's also another reason why you can't post this thread here. Members would just reply without any knowledge of the situation. BTW, Galad, that is an appropriate response: no personal attacks, no personal bias, clarification of literal intent, that's what you need. The way you respond you sound like a little schoolgirl crying because Butch the Bully kicked dirt in her eyes. xD No offense, just kidding around, lol. |

these are views from a members perspective that's been
here for quite a while (longer then some of the satff members)
I understand that this topic has been on the minds of some staffers for quite a while and they want some improvement.
That is valid in itself. I also understand that they were just using a few names to use as examples to further get they're point across. Yet let said before many of times. Why is this out for the public to see.
If this was truely something that was between staffers, why isn't it in the staffer forums. It's a problem that has to be figured out between that community not the the regular members. By doing so you have people that want to jump on a banndwagon to say "i agree with so and so" and " your right" when in truth most (and you al know this) have the slightest clue what the hell they are speaking about.
to me this just seem as aero mentioned as propaganda of a sort to get some attention to problems that need to be solved elsewhere. To me it's as if the staff is falling a part and i sure as hell don't want to see that. It brings doubt to the whole staff instead of a selected few.

In fact, you are the bitter one Gavin, I have seen it all too often with you, it is not a new thing. Besides, you cannot stop him from saying LOL or HA-HA because you do not own him, it is his choice, so back off, let him breathe air that does not have your perfume in it.

Another point well stated. This doesn't belong here: period. Some people may misunderstand, some people may judge other people wrongly, and some people might just flame other people. xD
Keep in mind we're trying to maintain a sense of peace as well as some dignity, so keep this in the Staff Section. |

Probably not my business, but other non-staffers have commented, so I'll throw in my piece.
What concerns me is simple: What I'm seeing here is hard-coding of rules. That, in my experience, is very dangerous...It's one of the things that made me resign from *counts on fingers* five or six mod positions (mind, that was back in the day when ezBoard didn't suck a mountain of ass the size of the
Death Star, so you're free to believe that things have changed so much since then that my experience is totally invalid)
Once you codify rules, you bind your own hands. The one administrator I respect more than any other (as an admin, apart from as a person) taught me that human judgment is better than any rule can ever be, because situations will change. When Tychoides sees something that needs to be done, he just does it. It's sort of a Zen way to run a message board. To hell with any precedents and rules, if it needs to be done, do it. If you've got a ****nut messing up the board, ban the bastard. If a contributing member accidentally borks something up once, they shouldn't be banned because of some obscure rule that was made six years ago and never repealed even though it's redundant.
The role of staff, IMO, should be to apply their own judgment to each case as it arises, not to set rules that attempt to anticipate future problems and (usually) wind up causing them.
*shrugs* I might just be full of ****, too, I'll admit that. Although I've been on staff on dozens of boards, I've not exactly been a model staffer anywhere. I like to think, though, that someone who's messed up as much as I have has maybe learned something from it.
