Spring 2003 Upcoming Premieres & Features
Final Fantasy Republic v4.0 coming this Spring?
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
This time last year, Final Fantasy Republic was rebuilding it's structure of it's previous community after a massive server crash during early January. Now, 5,000 members later, Final Fantasy Republic has introduced their massive Spring 2003 plans.
Expected Releases from Final Fantasy Republic- Assisted Thread Classification [ATC]
- Organized Administrational Structure [OAS]
- Member Desktop Database [MDD]
- Member License Database [MLD]
- Fan Artwork Submission System [FASS]
- Fan Fiction Submission System [FFSS]
- Battle System Renaissance [BSR]
- Final Fantasy Republic v4.0?
- Republica New!
Assisted Thread Classification
This manual classification system will be featured in various artwork, announcement, and help/support forums. This system will help make sure that individual threads are classified in their correct form.
FOR EXAMPLE: When you create a new thread in Midgar Library, a dropdown will be listed as an input to classify the thread as a suggestion, question, bug report, or other. When showing the thread and in the forum's display you'll be able to see which kind've class the thread was assisted in.
Organized Administrational Structure
Staff organization has been an issue since day one at Final Fantasy Republic. Staff members would have to keep manual counts of warnings taken place around the forums. Staff members would also have to manually track days until members would be released from a temporary ban. With an OAS, FFR members and staff members can rejoice with an official "government-like" staff system. Basic roots are being created but here are the current takes for the design:- 3 Warnings = Temporary ban (7 days ban)
- 5 Warnings = Permanent ban (Eternal ban)
- All warnings can be reviewed by staff at anytime. This will prevent from unnecessary warnings and abuse of power.
- Under review, warnings can be waived and removed. This can allow unfairly banned members to become unbanned.
- Temporary bans will become automated; No need for staff to unban the member 7 days later.
- Members become aware of warnings; automated. This makes the use for the communicating to the user inevitable. When a member is warned, a popup will open and advise the warned member.
- When the staff warns the member, a dropdown list will be provided for reason behind the warn. This is to enforce the rules completely, and make sure that the case is actually a broken rule.
- Full warning statement reports. This will provide private statements onto the member's warning status. Each member's warning statement can only be seen by themselves and the staff.
- Privacy will be enforced through the forums onto warnings, unless brought forth publicly by the warned member.
Once the OAS is welcomed by the Final Fantasy Republic servers publicly, a planned "Renaissance Proclamation" is to be released. This proclamation will unban all currently banned members at that time. The reasoning behind this cause is to make sure that all bannings are fair and accurate with the new structural changes.
Member Desktop Database
This database will display currently active desktops (uploaded) of the members through the FFR server. It will all be structured into a large table that will display links to everyone's current desktop. Aside from that, member's will be able to view the newly uploaded desktops through the database.
Member License Database
The License database will run adjacent to the Desktop database, in which will function nearly the same exact way.
Fan Artwork Submission System
Finally something to recognize the great artists of this Final Fantasy community. Using the forums, members can submit their Fan Artwork through our submission system called [FASS]. FASS will require a terms and regulations agreement for each submission, to ensure that copyright rules are not broken per submitter. The submission will then be given a thread in our Fan Art forum as well as it's own page and location in our upcoming Fan Art station on the site. Members can then rate, discuss, and even "patronize" the artwork via the site and/or forums.
Fan Fiction Submission System
Compared to the FASS functionality, the FFSS will be nearly identical. However, this feature will be posted in the Fan Fiction forum and be given it's own station (preferably, Fan Fiction station) on the site. Members will still be able to rate, discuss, and "patronize" the literature via the site and/or forums through FFSS.
Battle System Renaissance
Formerly known as Battle System 'LIVE', the Battle System Renaissance MAY return under the name of Renaissance. New features with the Renaissance build will be announced in a later announcement if the release is official.
NOTE: If Final Fantasy Republic can completely resolve the bandwidth issues that have been taking place in the previous weeks, then this feature can be guaranteed. (An update: So far, bandwidth hasn't been an issue. Success so far.)
Final Fantasy Republic v4.0?
So when is FFR v4.0 coming? Is this Spring announcement a small prelude into the maximum world of the v4.0 series? Possibly. It's too early to publish the fact that these additions will lead to an entire new series into the Final Fantasy Republic version build index.
Republica
Final Fantasy Republic's own casino! 100% legal for all ages, 24/7, and betting through our RP currency system. Hang around all night to play Keno, Lotto, or simply bet on various betting tournaments. Anything from Basketball, Football, Baseball, Hockey, to Horse Racing.. It's up to you!
NOTE: Due to the fact in which our forum software and PHP backend are running under the vBulletin software, a possible vBulletin v3.0 could be unveiled anyday now. If at anytime during the Spring, the vBulletin v3.0 release is premiered, our plans could be shifted into the Summer plan, as in a lot of changes are required of the new v3.0 series. |

Afterlab, you really need to get a dictionary. Your misuse of words makes you look worse than Bush.
Are you going to make any improvements on the journal system? |

I should've waited to post this in the morning, but I was eager for comments on these new found designs. Besides, I've had a full day today; Everything from upgrading the vBulletin version to playing a game of Basketball outside in 30-degree weather. It's past midnight here too. Once I awaken, i'll fix some of my late-night grammar mistakes.
Anyways, the Journal System will be completed once the newer features are successfully added to all of the outdated pages. In all honesty, the Journal System hasn't technically been announced as a new version, and it actually isn't fully. |

| Well with new feature and things will there be new skins? |
|
|
|
|
|
|
| Without a doubt, no. Skins are extremely hard to maintain when over half of the entire features found at FFR are all custom coded for this layout. |

| With the new system(s) will there be more shortcut/alert buttons located at the top? |

|
| Why not open all the game sections of the site first? |

Because that would require boring work no one wants to do.
Forums are much more fun to work on.
So far so good afterlab. Good luck keeping it all on schedual and finding motivation for it all. Plans are good, but I know how hard it is to find some motivation to actually _want_ to do it. And it's not like you're getting paid. ;p |
