Then I assume conversation like [THIS ONE], where people (look who the last few posts are by...) are just talking back and forth constantly are going to be a no-no when you "extend the rules out to the rest of the forum", correct?
If it wasn't about "giving the members that they want", why did you even bring up the members opinions in this? Not that I ever said it was about the members what they want, just that it was no less legitimate than the "Rape Wars" banners. |

I don't see how it's your obligation to decide for us when something isn't funny. Discussing it is fruitless; it's better to just let the members naturally and intelligently move on by themselves.

We aren't going to be as strict in the rest of the forum, as in Balamb. Balamb is specifically for serious posting, thus why we will be harsher there. In the rest of the forum, we highly espect people to drift a bit, as a topic goes on. this is fine, as long as it doesn't get out of hand. A few posts off the topic is still going to be okay, as long as it doesn't completely takeover the thread.
As for why i brought up the member's opinions.. I didn't, Abel did. I just replied to his post. |

Duly noted, and put on the back burner.
Case in point, there IS a line between quality and relaxed atmosphere. However, as was stated many times before me, the one liners and the " u r stupid" **** has to stop. If Aaron does it, I'll be the first one to either delete the post or bring it up with him personally. I couldn't care in the least what any of you think about me, so whining and e-hating me only make me laugh.
However, I also agree that 3-4 paragraph posts are stretching it a bit far as well. We aren't asking for that. We ARE asking however for at least a decent sized paragraph (ONE, not many), denoting what you are attempting to say. In any argument whatsoever I know it takes more then 2-3 lines to even say one point, let alone many.
I will be one of few who will actively enforce this, and let try and balance it between quality and relaxed atmosphere. *****ing about it, and attempting to revolt against it however is not the way to go. |

I call for a boycott of Balamb Gardens effective immediately.
That, and the fact that I no longer find debating with people online that enriching of an experience. I'm in with a rather cultured and intelligent group of friends in my town (a group which has been altered and whittled down over the past few years to eliminate the riff-raff). I've realized an intellectual discussion with real people whose opinions you know are intelligently founded is much more satisfying than talking to any old bloke on a forum. |
