This is a short story that I started in English, cuz we had to write one. It is mostly about Caramon and Raistlin the twins form the Dragonlance novels...You can continue on it if you want, it has lots of possibilities.
He wasn't alone. It seemed as even the winds were whispering to him. Raistlin nervously shifted and looked outside the window of the Inn of the Last Home. Caramon, Raistlin's twin brother, looked over at him and frowned. He hated seeing his sickly, frail brother nervous. Caramon, in his gladiator armor with his long sword at his side, walked over and stood next to his brother.
"Uh....Raist are you alright?"
"I'm fine!" Raistlin snapped back at his brother, impatient with his as always. He started to go into a coughing fit, an uncurable illness he gained from the his Test of High Sorcery, a test all young mages take if they plan to pursue their goal in magic. Caramon stalked behind the counter and started to pour hot water and herbs into a mug, Raistlin's own concoction givin to him by Par-Salian, Master of the Tower. Caramon walked back to his brother and handed him the mug. Raistlin grabbed it and started to sip at it, his cough instantly started to sooth. Tanis Half-Elven, the twins' friend and companion, got up from his seat at the table and walked over to Caramon. He put his hand on his big friend's shoulder, "We have a long day ahead of us, you two should get some sleep."
Tanis and the rest of the companions (Sturm Brightblade, Tasslehoff Burrfoot, Laurana, and Flint Fireforge) all got up from their tables, drank the rest of their ale, and walked upstairs to their rooms, all bidding good-night to Caramon and a silent nod to Raistlin. Caramon looked at his brother and nodded, "Raist, we really should get some sleep, it is going to be a long, hard journey on all of us, especially you."
Raistlin, ignoring his brothers plea, looked around the inn, "Ahhh...go ahead Caramon, I'm going to stay awake a bit longer."
"That's alright Riast, I'll stay down here with you."
Raistlin nodded behind his red hood and for the first time in years, smiled on his brother's behalf. He sat in a corner seat and once again looked outside at the stars, his black hourglass shpaed eyes flashing. |
