This is just what I have typed of my Final Fantasy 7 fan fiction. yes, what I warned you all of in my intro post. This fan fic is actually a sequel to something my friend did and part of a fan fic project called "Phoneix Down Genesis" a collection of about five very Sue-y fics. Only two of which are completed. And actually, this one is in the middle of redraft.

Here you go. Comments are appreciated, but only if you liked it. Because it does kind of suck.

Final Fantasy VII: The Vega Fables

~Chapter One~
It was nearing Twilight, and Cloud Strife's twenty-fifth birthday celebration wasn't even starting to wind down. He and his friends were enjoying a small party at the Seven Heaven Bar. Well, it wasn't actually a bar anymore. A more fitting title was the Seven Heaven Inn, Orphanage and Strife Delivery Service. Cloud and Tifa had decided that with so many children running around a bar was not a good idea.
The children had gotten bored with the party and had gone out to play. And that is when the real fun had started. Currently, they were all crowded around Cid, cheering him on. Yuffie was in one of those moods, and dared him to see how many sodas her could drink in sixty seconds. And the tone of Yuffie's voice had made him angry, so he accepted. It was quite funny.
Even Vincent Valentine was enjoying himself. Of course, he wasn't screaming and banging his fist against a table, like Barret, but he was enjoying him self. In his Vincent sort of way. He was sitting at a table near by, looking on a smiling.
Cid drank a total of seven sodas and then proceeded to belch, which he thought was manly but was actually just disgusting. Afterwords, Vincent got up and went outside for some fresh air. He thought that might help the nausea creeping up his throat.
The sky outside was still slightly pink, and the few stars that were visible at this time of day were hidden by the city lights. He could hear the sounds of the party still going on inside. And then of course there was always the sounds of the city. Cars going up the road, people walking around, kids screaming and playing with their friends. Vincent leaned against the cement wall and listened, just being calm for a second after the activity in the party.
And that's when he heard it. Footsteps coming up the alleyway. Heavy boots marching up towards them. He whirled around, drawing Cerberus as he did. When he got all the way around, he was face to face with a young woman. Actually, he was face to forhead with a young woman. He looked down, and stepped back.
The woman was clutching a torn-up shopping bag to her chest and looked as if she might have a heart attack any minute. She seemed to be in her early twenty's. She had crimson hair, all swept forward in spikes around her chin, and two blond streaks framed a very thin face. She was wearing a dress nearly the same color as her hair and a long brown coat. A green mesh sleeve covered her left arm, and black scarf was wound loosely around her neck. She had very long red fingernails and very heavy eye make-up and lipstick.
"Are you Cloud Strife?" she asked. She sounded very tired, and that much was evident from the dark circles under her green eyes. Vincent shook his head no, and didn't put down Cerberus. The girl shifted her weight, heaving the bag. "Okay, is this-" She waved her bony hand towards the bar. "-the Seventh Heaven Bar?"
"Inn, actually," said Vincent. "And yes, it is." "Okay...who are you and can you help me find Cloud Strife?" she asked next. Vincent told her his name but didn't lower his gun and didn't answer the other question. She sighed, setting her bag on the dusty ground. She pulled out a pair of tonfas. "Look, can you help me find Cloud?" she asked, gripping the tonfas tightly. "I'm not going to hurt him."
Vincent was still doubtful. The girl saw this. "Look I just want to ask him a favor." "What kind of favor?" asked Vincent. The girl sighed and put her weapons back into the bag. She spoke but didn't answer his question. "My brother told me stories about the great Cloud Strife. And I need his help. Take me to him."
The great Cloud Stife? When the girl saw that he still wasn't yielding, she assumed a fighting stance. "Do I need to prove myself worthy?" she asked, staring at him with a strange intensity. Vincent almost laughed out loud. Who did she think Cloud was? Vincent lowered Cerberus, telling her "Put away your weapons and follow me."
"Are we going to see Cloud?" she asked, nervously. Vincent resisted the urge to roll his eyes, but he just nodded. The girl sighed and dropped the tonfas into her bag. "Thank you so much, Mister Valentine." Vincent simply walked back inside. Loru followed him, the door swinging behind her.
After going down a small hall, they came into the main room. Yuffie was telling a story. A very descriptive story. And Cid, Barret and Tifa were lauging so hard they looked as if they might burst. Cloud was sitting with them, smirking and shaking his head.
The action came to an adrupt end when they noticed the stranger. "Vincent?" asked Yuffie, eyeing the crimson haired woman suspicously. The woman pushed past Vincent, asking "Which one of you is Cloud Strife?"
Everyone exchanged glances. Cloud looked up warily and then stood, slowly. Loru puckered her lips. "You?" she asked. "Hmph. You look different than I thought." All eyes turned to the blond. Cloud didn't bat an eyelid. "Who are you?" he demanded, taking no chances. The stranger sighed, shuffled her feet and then sat down her bag. Then she looked up and said "Loru. Loru Vega."
"Vega," murmured Tifa, under her breath. Loru looked at Tifa strangly, and then back at Cloud. Cloud got right to the point. He was never one to beat around the bush. "What do you want?" he asked. "What are you here for?"
Loru collpased into an empty chair, resting her tired head on the table. Everyone else continued to stand. Loru looked up, and just as she as was about to speak, Tifa cried out "Vega! Shaddix Vega! He was the one who got us those maps of the Shin-ra building, remember? The tall, blond one."
Loru threw her head back and laughed. Their was a murmur of realization. Yuffie smirked. "Shaddix. Yeah, I remember him. He was pretty cute." Hearing this, Loru laughed again. She continued to explain. "Yes. Shaddix is my older brother. " She looked at Cloud again, this time tilting her head towards him. "He...really looked up to you. He told me a lot of stories about you, actually. Vincent stood behind Loru menacingly. Cloud sat back down, with a heavy sigh and said "Shaddix never mentioned a sister."
Loru actually growled. And then her eyes welled up like she was about to cry. "That's why I need your help, Cloud," she said, touching her arm. She reached down into her bag and pulled out a Strife Delivery Service flyer. It was worn and torn and looked like it had been folded and unfolded several times. Loru was apparently quite fond of that little scrap of paper. She looked at and then said "I don't think Shaddix ever mentioned me because he was afraid of what would happen."
She sighed and continued. "Bad people took me away when I was young and...experimented on me." She touched her arm again. Vincent watched her as she pushed the mesh sleeve on her left arm up, exposing her pale, bony arm. But that wasn't all. There were even paler spirals going up her arm, from her wrist all the way up to at least her forearm, probably further. But it was still covered.
Vincent thought. Those looked like burns. Experiments. Vincent felt anger crawl inside him like a living thing. He knew what she was going through. He glanced over at Cloud, who was staring at Loru's arm intensely. He had a peculiar look on his face. Blush covered his cheeks. He was angry, very. They all knew that look. He was thinking about her. Experiments had affected everyone in this room, even if they themselves had not been experimented on. Tifa put her hand on his shoulder, squeezing lightly.
"What kind of experiments did they do on you?" asked Tifa quietly. Loru put her fingers to her temples. She looked as if she were trying very hard to remember something. "I don't," she said quietly, squeezing her eyes shut. "I can't remember. I'm sorry."
Then realization flooded her eyes. "Oh!" she cried. "It had something to do with materia. I remember now." Yuffie perked up. Materia was her speciality. Loru ranted on. "Yes! They were trying to fuse me with the....white materia? They wanted to create a weapon within me....no. Not a weapon...more like a defense mechanism."
All eyes turned to Yuffie. "Is that...even possible?" asked Cloud, twisting in his seat to look at Yuffie. Yuffie's mouth fell open. She was... speechless. "I have no clue," she finally sad. "It could be." Cloud sighed heavily, resting his forhead on the palms of his hands. Tifa patted his shoulder again. Loru held her scarred arm to her body, the sleeve falling back down to her wrist as she moved. "I'm sorry," she said. "I seem to have struck a nerve. But please...hear me out. I barely got away with my life, and a month ago, too."
She made a choking noise and her hand flew to her face, wiping a way a runaway tear. "Imagine how much pain they have caused in a month. Please...these people have to be stopped."
