Ah it's late, I can't sleep and I'm bored, so I've scanned in some of the stuff I did for my final major project on my foundation art course. Actually just the its I presented as my final piece and a section of a painting I did where I attempted to experiment with the textural style of Vuilliard in a quick copy of Vuillard's Place Vintimille, I might add some of the stuff from my sketchbook as well but a lot of that is really quick drawings and they tend to be layered on top of one another so they're hard to see.
Before I get to the first piece, bear in mind that this was an illustration project (the theme was Spring by the way) and I was rushing at the end. I was not pleased with the work I produced for my final piece...until everyone else started saying it was good .
Anyways first up is that section of painting I mentioned, 'twas just a rushed experiment, that's all there is to it, the concept isn't mine, the style isn't mine, it's just an experiment in vuilliard's style raping one of his compositions, |

Anyways next up is a print I did of a Spring scene, based off that watercolour ink drawing I have in the doodle thread. The process was engraving, although i didn't have any copper so i cheated and engraved into plastic, I won't go into detail but engraving takes a lot of work, but at the end of it you have a plate that you can take many prints off.
This is a small image thanks to the file size limit, so you can't see **** all. Doesn't help that the image is soooooo dark either though, but when I printed it on some better watercolour paper it came out much cleaner and crisper, I'll try to find that one.
Anyways, people actually liked this, but unfortunately because you can't see **** all because of the reasons mentioned above, you probably won't xD |

Now bear in mind, this set of illustrations aren't in a style I'd normally do and not one I'm fond of either, also the colours are a lot more vivid in real life.
There's 8 more of these to come. |
