“Tarnished Gold”
My only gold became tarnished by woe,
Its aura no longer alive with that fiery glow.
And when Cupid’s arrow, a spell of endlessness
Turned out to be nothing more than a passing bliss,
The icy fingers of solitude penetrated my whole,
And *****ed at me from the annals of my soul.
You left me lost inside your Wonderland,
But that’s where I began to understand
That a divine inferno still burned deep inside,
And your true beauty hadn’t really died.
