This is a poem that accompanies my earlier short story "Angel Tears," which I know a few of you liked. Be weary, though. I'm not as good of a poet as I am a prose writer...
Woeful Lament
Thorne N. Melcher
Where Sol once made the daily climb into the morning sky,
And the cherry blossoms dispersed their rosy snow in the spring breeze,
Death’s icy grip now clenches Life at the throat,
And shadows of dreary smoke consume the sun’s nurturing rays
But the angel will shed tears serene born form her woeful lament,
Assuaging the plague imbued in Gaia’s heart. |
