Heh, I couldn't scan it and I couldn't get a decent photo either, flash either made it too bright or it was too dark, anyways you get the idea. There's a couple of bits I like, the t shirt, the left eye and the bits around it and where the hair meets the forehead (love those brush strokes). Obviously the colours aren't real, but the palette could have been chosen with a bit more class than it was, I started scratching through the surface paint at the end to let paint underneath show through, unfortunately that had two unfortunate side effects, 1 - leaving the board bare in places 2 - Giving me a blue beard. Now I'm not against having a blue beard, it's just that it looks ****, but on the whole I did like the rough look it gave the painting when using the palette knife in that way.
But for my first go at oil painting, really my first go at painting properly and for a piece that was done in a single sitting fairly quickly, I don't think it's all that bad.
Anyways, I apologise for the poor quality of the images, but they should give you a general idea.
Edit - If you're wondering what the **** the blue thing in the foreground is, it's my knee.
Hey that's not bad at all. I like it. I must say...the blue is rather funky a little but the look of the face is rather.......spooky ( in a good way) Really good

And the painting is not bad at all, especially since it's your first attempt. It's a helluva lot better than anything I could ever do. I hope you plan to continue your experimentation with oil painting.
Cheers guys, and Pinto, I look kind of like that, but not quite as grumpy, or dead looking, neither do i have a blue beard, and my face is shorter than that, and the eye onmy left hand side isn't quite so dead and upwards. (For some reason I always **** that side of the face up, the eye anyway)
Got a scan done, so here it be, just same as the others but better quality really
I hadn't shaved for about a month when I did that one so I was (and still am) pretty hairy around the old face. If I can find a decent razor that'll change tonight
