Chapter 1 The Begining
Squall took a deep breath as he put his gunblade back in his pack. He hung back his arm to reach for the potion in his pack he had been slightly injured in his one on one duel with his best friend Cloud. He pulled out the potion and opened he sipped it up and then he felt relived for he knew this battle would not be easy for him. “Wait! I’m coming too.” Cloud said running after Squall.
“No, you don’t want to get into this mess and a deal is a deal. You lost I won, go!!” Squall said walking away from Cloud.
“ I don’t care what the deal was your not going alone” Cloud said running back up to Squall.
“ You aren’t going to leave me alone about this are you?” Squall asked.
“ Nope! I’m coming.” Cloud said slowing down as he caught up with Squall.
The two men walked silently the rest of the way to the Crater entrance. They seemed to be thinking up there strategy until Cloud Spoke up. “ How are we going to beat this guy Squall?” Cloud asked.
“I don’t know, we’ll have to see how powerful he is. You should know you fought him before.” Squall responded.
“I know but that was like Five-Six years ago and I was an amateur and lost easily.” Cloud said.
They really had no idea what they were about to go up against. Sephiroth was a man that no one could match in strength or the will to fight. He had his reasons for being so pissed off all the time. But to many those reasons were unclear. But for Sephiroth it was for his “Mother” Jenova. Sephiroth grew stronger and stronger every day that he had looked for the only way that he could destroy the planet but he hadn’t found it. No one but himself knew what it even was.
The two pressed onward until they came to a fork in the road. There was a sign they’re that said: This way to the crater. And the other sign said: this way to the town of Babek. “ Should we get some rest in Babek?” Cloud asked as they read the sign in there heads.
“ Bah. We don’t need rest even though you need it cause you’re a wusse, doesn’t mean I do.” Squall snickered. “ Were only going to Babek to get to the Crater.”
“Whatever.” Cloud said. They walked up the street towards the city of Babek and they came to some sort of hole in the ground. They both could instantly tell where it had come from. It was from the long harsh battle between Gasyh and Setzer. They had both died in the long battle. Strangely though they did not kill each other Sephiroth killed them both with a huge explosion caused by Bolt 3.
They walked around the large hole in the ground and they came to a sudden Holt when the met up with two unfamiliar men. “ Who are you?” the man on the left said in a very low tone. The man on the right just nodded and stood still. The two men where very muscular and looked very strong. The man on the right looked like he had just came out of a fight his face was so messed up he had a long scar mark down the middle of his face, Just like Squall’s.
“ I’m Squall and this is my friend Cloud.” Squall said pointing to Cloud.
“ Squall, huh? Really? Sounds almost like my name, I’m Dark Squall.” He said.
Instantly Squalls mouth gapped open in horror and disbelief. “ Wha..What did you say your name was again?” Squall asked.
“Its Dark Squall.” he said. “ But most people just call me Dark.”
“ Ohh.” Squall said confused by the whole thing.
“ Well anyway well let you pass see-ya. C’mon Waek lets go.” The two men walked by Squall and Cloud. They started walking out of Babek. “ Well, that was weird.” Cloud said.
“ Yeah.” Squall said.
They walked on through the town stopping at one of the towns largest weapon shop and upgraded their weapons. They then stopped to grab a few potions and X-potions for the fight; they knew that they would need them anyway. They caught a bite to eat and left the town of Babek. When they got out of Babek they could see the huge Crater that they would be going to. “ So that’s the place, huh?” Cloud said.
“ Yep that’s it.” As they started walking to the place where they would battle Sephiroth for the fate of the planet they started to think upon their memories they had, had together. They walked for miles always looking at the Crater and thinking, how in the heck are we going to defeat this guy. They walked up to the edge of the Crater and looked down. “ Dang that is far down.” Cloud said starring down the long path that leads to where Sephiroth is. “ Yeah, but lets not worry about that now lets get going.” Squall said. “Hey but before we go ya wanna play a Triple Triad game real quick? This could be our last times together.” Cloud asked.
“ Oh all right fine lets go but Cloud I warn you I never lose.” Squall said. They sat down on the ground and got their decks out of their backpacks.
The Card game had begun and Cloud got to go first he laid down the Edea card first in the top right hand corner. Then Squall Smirked and Laid down his own card the Squall card, underneath Edea’s card, which flipped it and the score was now 4-6 in favor of Squall. “Nice move.” Cloud said concentrating on his what his next move would be. Finally Cloud had decided on what he would play he then laid down the Zell card, which he had made a copy of it from Zell. He put the car on the left of the Squall card, which nothing happened it was the only move he could make as of now. Now it was Squall’s turn. He thought for about a second and then he lay down his girlfriends card Rinoa. He laid the card to the top of the Zell card, which made it flip. The score was now 3-7, Squall. Cloud then made his next move, which changed the course of the game for him he laid down the Seifer card. He laid the card at the bottom right hand corner, which had the same as Squall and Rinoa and Zell, which made all of the cards, flip to his side. It was now 8-2 Cloud. “ What? How did you do that?” Squall said shocked that he had just lost because he had no more cards he could play to win. The game had ended and Cloud had won. “ Yeah how’s that for a Novice?”
They had started to put their cards back into their backpacks when Zell and Irvine strode up to where the two where. “ Here take this before you go off and do something crazy.” Zell handed each of them a Mega-Elixir. “Thanks we might need this.” Squall said putting one leg over the side of the hole, there was a tiny latter that went all the way to the bottom. But as Squall put his other leg over the edge his hand slipped and Squall plummeted to the ground. “ Squall!!” Cloud yelled as he watched his friend fall. Zell looked over the side of the Crater and could here Squalls Cries. Then after a brief moment of yelling The Crater went Silent. No crash, no loud bang, nothing. Cloud Yelled out over the Crater to Squall. “Squall!! Can you hear me? Are you alright?” No answer. “I got to go find him.” Cloud said.
“You’re not going to go by yourself without him. Oh no I’m coming.” Zell Said As he reached back towards his pack and grabbed his Ehergiz gloves. He slipped them on and went to the Crater hole opening. “ Tifa, Rinoa you two go get Quistis and Headmaster Cid and tell them that me and Zell are going to find Squall and tell them what happened.
