OK, fellow writers, here are the new guidelines to this wonderful forum of ours. Please take time to read them.
The one-thread per person rule on poetry is abolished.
The reason for this is because there are some who would just post their poetry without replying to others. This is one of the causes for the apparent inactivity of this forum, and I am hoping to remedy this situation.
The new system will be as follows: for every new thread that you post, reply to at least three other works. This applies when posting poems or stories, not discussion threads.
The purpose of this rule is to ensure that other newly-posted works are not being bumped off below into the second page. Also, by replying to others' works, it is also a means of showing courtesy.
"Read mine, critique/comment, and I'll do the same to your work."
When posting poetry, post only one poem per thread.
The reason for this is that people would prefer reading one poem at a time than scrolling through an entire post full of poems. It would be very difficult to comment on a set of poetry all at once.
For those who are still following the one-thread-per-person rule, make a new thread instead of bumping your older one.
When posting stories, space out the paragraphs.
The purpose of this rule is to relieve the strain on the eyes of the readers when reading the story. It gives us breathing space when the paragraphs and quotes are spaced out, thus your story will be much easier to read.
The thread labeling system shall remain in effect.
The labeling is very much important when you post. The purpose of this is to organize the forum and make your thread more appealing to the readers. Here are the labels:
[s] - Story
[P] - Poetry
[E] - Essay
[D] - Discussion*
*All discussion threads will be in the Shinra Mansion for the meantime.
Plagiarism is a very serious offense.
This is a big no-no not only within the Mansion, but also the entire forum. We have had cases of plagiarism in the past, and we would not want to get in legal complications.
Always give credit to the author when posting his/her work. Cite the source/author in the first post. I am emphasizing this so no one will claim ignorance.
I will ask nicely, do not plagiarize. Failure to adhere to this will result in an Official Warning and I would not want that to happen.
Rating of works and rewarding of RP.
Poems and stories will be rated accordingly. Based on the rating of your work, a certain amount of RP will be rewarded.
1-3 = No RP donation
4-7 = Small RP donation
8-10 = Significant RP donation
Keep in mind that the amount donated will vary depending on the moderator reading your work. Likewise, members may donate as well.
Other matters to be addressed.
These guidelines are subject to change at any time. I will be continually updating this depending on the circumstances.
If there are any other questions, please PM Quistis or myself and we will do our best to answer your queries.
Thank you. |
