After the fall of Sephiroth, many new clans emerged. Most of them were little clans that supported themselves. These clans delt with internal and external political problems. But there were three clans that were considered the most powerful. The Cult of Sephiroth, The Krimzon Braves, and the Reign Of Nibelhiem. These clans more then rivaled each other and the Clan Wars began. About a yr into the war, a cease-fire was agreed amongst the three. But that soon all changed when The Cult of Sephiroth went back on their word.
Ch.1:Recon
"Gen. Kyo, the Krimzon Braves seem to have disbanded"
"Good, good. Our tasks will be much easier without their interference. What about the Cult?"
"They seem to be gaining influence in the regions that the Braves use to inhabit...also sir, word has it that a new group has arisen."
"What is their name?"
"Mercenaries for Hire...they seem to have control over the mountain and sea regions, along with the place that was once inhabited by the Shinra, they are rebuilding Midgar...."
"This is news to me...tell me who is their leader?"
"I’m not sure sir.... the only way to find out is to raid their territory."
"Send for one of our soldiers to go on a reconnaissance mission."
"Yes sir!"
With that, the advisor left Gen. office and headed for the barracks.
'Knock Knock'
"Come in!" came a voice from inside.
"Gen.Kyo wants one of you to go on a recon mission. Whose turn is it?"
"XXX's turn!!" yelled ZERO
"No it ain't I went last time, its your turn!"
With a sigh, ZERO got up from the table and headed towards the door. He was suddenly stopped at the door by the advisor.
"Good luck, your mission is to go to the old Midgar and scout the Mercenaries activities there, also, see if you can identify their leader."
"Sure sure, just make sure the bike is ready.... oh and Sigma, tell Kyo that if I die out there, its all his fault...."
Sigma smirked to which ZERO frowned. Sigma caught the frown and ran out the doorway towards the garage.
"Yeh you better run!!"
ZERO turned around to say his good byes to his friends. Then headed down the door to where Sigma went.
"The bike's ready..."
"Yeh whatever, open the door for me"
Sigma went over to a switch in the left corner and turned it on and a huge door that was unnoticeable before started to move. ZERO got on the B-Speeder and headed out.
Ch.2:The Mercenaries
ZERO rode down a dirt path but his bike suddenly flew into the air, launching him off the bike. He landed on his back and quickly got up. He turned around to see what had caused him to flip over and noticed a large root sticking out of the ground.
"Stupid root, what the hell is a giant root doing in the middle of a barren desert?????" ZERO proclaimed. He went over and kicked the root as hard as he could. But something happened that he didn’t expect. With a growl, the root slowly retracted and out from behind a huge rock came a Marlboro.
"Oh ****, I wasn’t counting on this in a recon mission"
He drew his sword and began for battle. The Marlboro quickly unleashes its most infamous attacks, Bad Breath.
ZERO was caught by surprise and suddenly felt confusion overcame him. ZERO began sweating and suddenly started to hit himself. The Marlboro seeing this, moved in for its final attack. Suddenly, and arrow whizzed through the sky hitting the Marlboro dead in its mouth. It backed up a little then was hit again by another arrow, this time, one of its tentacles. It backed up a little more then one last arrow hit it in the mouth again, but this time, killing it. The Marlboro fell over and the warrior went over to help ZERO.
"Are you all right??"
ZERO swung his sword clumsily at the her.
"Here let me help you" The warrior imbued one of her darts with the remedy potion and stuck it into Zero’s arm. After a couple of seconds, ZERO came back to normal.
"Thank you...who are you?"
"I am the Noble Knight known as Kaeru. I was going to New Midgar in order to deliver a message to the Leader of the R.O.N. when I saw you getting ruffed up by this Marlboro..."
"Hey I wasn’t doing that bad, but why do you have a message to deliver?"
"I’m with the clan known as Mercenaries for Hire, my leader had an urgent message for the leader of the R.O.N. so he sent me"
ZERO knowing that he must scout out the Mercenaries base, pretended that he was a wanderer.
"Ahh, yes, I've heard of that clan, who is your leader? I'm considering joining them."
"Well, I'm a leader, and there are two others, but I must be going, time is running short!! Farewell!!"
"Goodbye!!" ZERO shouted as the girl ran off. He went to go look for his bike but notice he isn’t far from his destination.
'Its over the hill' he thought to himself. So he ran up over the hill and ended up in front of the gateway.
"Damn it, how do I get in!!" he shouted. He started kicking at the door till he notice a key on the ground not to far from where he was.
"This must be the gate key...." He used the key on the gate and suddenly, a loud crack, then a boom. The gate opened. He walked in slowly at first. Cautiously, he picked up the pace. Now, he guessed, he must be in the slums. Suddenly, a shout and the sound of gunfire rang out. He ran and hid under some rubble.
"Get back here!!!! We'll have your neck you spy!!!"
Ch3.:Confrontation
"Damn it!! He's getting away!!!" ZERO heard footsteps coming his way. Then stop and went the other way. Then he heard more footsteps. This time, there was more then one set of feet. After the footsteps grew distant, ZERO mustered up the courage to get out of his hiding place. He looked the way the footsteps came from and figured it’s where their HQ lies. Taking caution, he ran down the empty road. But something had caught his eye. An object to his left had been shining. He went to inspect it. It was a materia. He inserted into his sword not knowing what he had just done. He continued down the path until he reached a door labeled
SECTOR 8
ZERO slowly walked in. He notices a single house, but the house was large. It looked farley new compared to everything else around it. Suddenly, the door opened an ZERO jumped to the left into some rubble.
"Did, you send Kaeru out to deliver the message??"
"Yes sir Leon!"
"What was the commotion about earlier??"
"It seems a spy had intruded into Sector 5 before Sir Lionheart and Lady Destiny found him."
"I see, what clan did you say he's from?"
"The Cult of Sephiroth, sir. It seems they want to sabotage our plans to rebuild Midgar."
"They will not succeed, after the R.O.N. leaders accept our alliance, we will destroy the Cult."
ZERO gasped. If he knew Kaeru was delivering a peace message, he would have never intended on intruding the Mercenaries base.
"What was that?? Arche, go check it out."
Suddenly, ZERO jumped out of the rubble with his hands up.
"Whoa, I don't mean any harm...I'm from R.O.N., my leader sent me too..."
"Spy on us??" snapped one of them.
"Arche, calm down, he is from R.O.N. We welcome you...come inside and we shall talk about the issues at hand..."
Ch.4:The Plot
ZERO walked into the door not knowing what to expect.
"Have a seat, my name is Leon Magnus, and I am one of the Leaders of the Mercenaries along with Kaeru and Lionheart."
"Kaeru.... I met her on the way here, she saved my life"
"I see, she was sent to deliver a message, but you already know that. The message, though, is about an alliance between R.O.N. and The Mercenaries. It seems the Cult is trying to have us disbanded. We almost caught a spy in Sector 5. Usually though, we ask intruders like you and the spy from the Cult to come and have a talk with us, as we are doing now, but that spy was in a vital center for us. That’s where all our plans were and also, he had dropped a message from another clan...it was something about taking over the world and bringing back Sephiroth."
"But that would mean..."
"Correct, the black and white materia are out there somewhere, along with the original members that killed Sephiroth years ago."
"But why do you need our help, R.O.N.'s help?"
"It seems, they haven't targeted you yet, so we decided if we can ally with you, The Cult will leave us alone until we are finish rebuilding Midgar"
Suddenly, a loud "BOOM" came from outside the door.
"Arche, go see what it is"
Arche ran out the house but not soon after, he yelled in pain.
"What the hell is going on out there??!!!" exclaimed Leon.
ZERO ran out only to see chaos. It seems that a mysterious group had entered to take over Midgar. Just then, Leon ran out.
"**** we got to get out of here."
"What about Lionheart and Destiny??"
"They know what to do, come on, get Arche, we're going to New Midgar"
Ch.5ecisions
"Who is it Sigma?"
"It seems to be a messenger from The Mercenaries"
"Let her in...."
Kaeru walked through the door proudly bearing the Mercenary crest on her shoulder.
"What is it you need?"
"I have a message for you from Leon of the Mercenaries"
Kyo read the message then lowered it from his face.
"How can I trust this alliance?"
"Sir, we mercenaries don't lie."
"Well the history of the clan wars proves a lot of people lie...."
Meanwhile, ZERO, who’s is carrying Arche, and Leon head for the exit of Midgar.....
"Phwew! This guy is heavy, you got a potion for him?"
Leon rummages around in his sack for a potion.
"Here we go........there, all done."
"Let's rest while he comes too"
"No time ZERO, I suppose after those people are finish with what they need to do, they'll raid this whole place. Lets get out first...."
With that, ZERO picked up Arche again and head, once again, towards the exit.
"OK, we're out, how 'bout now?"
"Alright, lets have seat."
But before ZERO sat down, he notice something in the corner of his eye.
"Leon, what is that??" ZERO set Arche down to go check it out.
"Hey Leon, it appears to be two bodies out here." Leon got up from where he was sitting.
"Holy ****!! Its Lionheart and Destiny"
"Damn it!!! More bodies to carry..."
"No need, ill get Bahumat. But how could this happen? They are both two of our top mercenaries...." With that, Leon gestured and uttered some incoherent words. All of a sudden, a strange light blinded ZERO but Leon was unaffected. When the light cleared, ZERO was stunned. An amazing beast, dragon like. It flew down and Leon and ZERO placed their companions onboard.
Back at New Midgar...........
"But you can trust us....."
Suddenly, a party of 5 busted through the door.....
Ch.6egotiations over dinner
"ZERO, come here!" ZERO hurried up the walkway up to his leader.
"Why have you brought them here?"
"Sir, their base was attacked, also, I thought you would have agreed to the truce by now."
"Not yet ZERO" said Kaeru. ZERO noticing Kaeru was there, smiled at her.
"Sir Kyo, the Cult, they've attacked Midgar. And I think they're coming here."
"That’s not the point now, we have intruders! Sigma, send them away!"
"Wait, I am Leon Magnus of the Mercenaries. You must listen to my story. Th....."
"We will discuss this over dinner..." said ZERO. Kyo couldn't protest, he was in no mood to argue anymore. He was famished himself.
"Alright.......Sigma, send for preparations for dinner."
"Yes sir!" Sigma ran off down the walkway not noticing the people in his way. Lionheart had to dodge Sigma in order to stay afoot.
"As for now, ZERO, explain to me how your mission went."
"When I had reached Midgar, I had found a gate key on the ground, it seemed as though it was moved there not some time ago. I used it to open the gate into Midgar. But not even 10 minutes in, I thought I would be captured. So I ran and hid amongst some rubble. Just when I thought I was done for, I realized it wasn't me they were after, it was someone else. After the commotion died down, I gathered the courage to get out of the rubble and head down the way the voices and footsteps came from. When I had reached the end of the path, I remembered seeing a door labeled "SECTOR 8". I cautiously went through the gate. Inside, I noticed a house. It was huge but everything around it seemed run down and old. Again I feared for my safety because the door of the house opened and I once again, jumped into some rubble."
"Who came out the door ZERO?" asked Leon, smirking."
"Well I was getting to that, in fact, you and Arche came out the door. I overheard you two talking about the alliance message and I gasped. It was then that I jumped out and was confronted by Leon and Arche. Leon politely invited me in and we talked about the situation. Suddenly a huge explosion rang throughout the area and Arche went out to check it. But he was then hit and I went out. Then Leon and we decided to flee. After we left the gate, we decided to rest. But I notice two bodies lying on the floor. I asked Leon and he claimed it was Lionheart and Destiny. But it seems they are ok now, and that’s about it, Gen Kyo."
"You left out one important detail....." said Kaeru.
"Explain for me Kaeru, is it?" said Kyo
"Yes, its Kaeru. Well, long story short, I saved his life." ZERO blushed at this comment
"Elaborate..."
"He was in confusion, caused by a Marlboros attack when I noticed him. I killed off the Marlboro, cured him and went on my way."
"Thank you, Kaeru, uh.......do you need any compensation for my clumsy soldier?"
"Oh, uh no thank you, oh maybe one thing...."
"What is it?"
"That you'll consider our treaty."
"Alright, I'll consider it, but the decision will be over dinner." Just then, as if Kyo triggered something, Sigma came in saying dinner is ready.
"Follow me everyone." Kyo got up from where he was sitting and led everyone down the walkway, out the door and into a huge room.
"This is the "Luncheon hall". Don't take the name lightly, this is a place of business and gluttons......right ZERO?"
"Yeh sure, ahh, where are the rest of the soldiers?? And what of our hero Kyo?"
"The rest of the soldiers are coming while Zi is on a mission. For now, lets just have some food!! I could it a cow!"
Ch.7:Your questions are answered
Kyo sat down at the head of the table. He motioned everyone in his clan to sit down. While Leon, Lionheart and Kaeru set up a wide table at the end so all three of them can sit facing Kyo. Arche and Destiny sat on either of the sides.
"Enjoy everyone." said Sigma, seating himself soon after. Everyone started choking down. But suddenly, a mysterious man busted through the door.
"Ryoga!! Where have you been??"
"Sir Leon! I am sorry about being late. I was sidetrack while on my way out from Midgar. What happened back there??"
"We were attacked by the Cult it seems. I’m glad you knew to come here."
"You are welcome to have a seat" said Kyo. Ryoga nodded and sat down next to Destiny.
"Sigma, get another plate for our newcomer."
"Yes sir!" Sigma got up from his seat and headed into the kitchen where he came out again just a few seconds later.
"Here you are..." Sigma laid the plate in front of Ryoga who immediately grab his fork and took a huge piece of beef and stuffed it in his mouth.
"Thank you" he said, the words muffled by the meat in his mouth. As everyone gradually finished their food, Kyo prepared to have the plates taken away.
"So it seems that everyone is finished? Sigma, the plates!"
"Yes sir!" Sigma gestured and the plates flew up and flew through the kitchen door.
"This counsel shall begin then. Leon, it seems you seek our alliance in order to have the Cult leave you alone. So be it!" Everyone cheered at this announcement but the person who looked the most happy was Kaeru.
"But I have many questions to ask you Leon. Why did you want to rebuild Midgar?"
"In the past, the Shinra inhabited and rules over Midgar like a dictator would. But after it was destroyed, it seemed their research facilities and industrial plants were still intact. So I figured it would be a great addition to our cause if we were able to rebuild all of Midgar and utilize their labs and economic facilities to their full potential."
"But what is your cause? What do you seek to gain from this?"
"It seems, well...after Sephiroth was destroyed, the Cult was formed. And ever since they were plotting something, but we don’t know what. My guess is that they are trying to revive Sephiroth. But in order to do that, they need both the black and white materia. But it seems that if both those materia remain, its a possibility that the original party that slain Sephiroth is also still alive."
"But we don't know that right?"
"Correct, that’s why we seek to rebuild their labs so we can regather the information on the Jenova cells and how they work. But now, I have a few questions of my own."
"Ask away"
"It seems there are two leaders in your clan but one seems to be always absent....where is he?"
"Marvelous........he was last heard from in the Northern Caves. He left without informing anyone and when a message came from him that he was in the Northern Caves, we soon decided that he was a lost cause......" responded Kyo.
"I see...." Just then, the rest of the R.O.N. members came through the door.
"And here's the rest of the party......" said Kyo
"Meet XXX, Monkey man, Bully, Riku, and Niz. "
"Yes sir!!" They all said in unision.
"Have a seat, these are our new allies...."
Ch.8:Sneak Attack
"When was this decided Kyo?" asked Monkey man
"Just now, we were abou..."
'BOOM!!!!!!!!' One of the guards ran in.
"Gen Kyo sir, there is a breach in the west wall.....it looks like the Cult is here, and they're not alone."
"****!! EVERYONE, TO THE WEST WALL!!!!!!" everyone jumped up from this or herseats and sprinted out the door following Kyo.
"Who is that?? That’s not the Cult!!" ZERO exclaimed
"It looks like they have allies of their own, everyone, attack!!"
Everyone drew their weapons and shields. Arrows whizzed by and bombs were thrown. Kyo, and his soldiers charged into battle while the Mercenaries kept they're distance by using magic and bows. Many of the Cults members were struck down but were soon healed by some unseen force.
Focused on ZERO's situation
'clang.......thud' ZERO stepped back a few steps and charged again, this time he was double-teamed. He brought up his shield and ran with all his speed, toppling over both demons. He stabbed them both.
Focused on Kyo's situation
Kyo sheathed his katana and uttered some words in another tongue. A great flame sprouted from the ground and surrounded his enemy. He drew his katana again and slashed at his enemy. The body fell into the flames and the fire grew.
"Everybody, drive them into the flames!!!"
Focused on XXX situation
A blinding light suddenly blasted more demons into the flame.
"Keep using holy, its working XXX!!!"
XXX sliced at another demon with his sword, activating the special tech embedded within it. Again, a blinding light overwhelmed allies and threw foes into the ever-growing flames. Suddenly, the sky darkened and something unusual happened.
A large beast, snake like, slithered down into the flames. Suddenly, the ground trembled and the sound of water was heard from all around.
Focused on ZERO's situation
"Oh ****! that materia I picked up must have been leveihaten!!! EVERYONE, GET TO HIGHER GROUNDS!!!"
Everyone on the battlefield ran to climb up either some trees or walls, luckily, the Mercenaries heard this warning too. Suddenly, water swept through the lands, drowning out all those who didn't heed ZERO's warning. All was gone except the two clans. It seems victory was upon them until another 7 single men rose from the drowned.
Ch.9:Face off
Kyo cautiously walked down to meet the 7. His soldiers followed along. The Mercenaries took actions of their own and ran off. The 7 figures rose slowly. The middle figure gestured strangely and a huge bolt was hurtled towards Kyo.
"Kyo!!! You bastard!!!!" exclaimed Monkey man. Then, all hell broke loose, again. ZERO ran to help Kyo when suddenly, one of the figure started to laugh menacingly.
"You think you can stop the revival of Sephiroth??? Think again!!!" With that, he summoned Hades, causing chaos everywhere. Kyo got back up in the confusion and summoned Ifrit.
"Take this!!!!!!!!!!!" massive flames consumed the area but the 7 seemed unaffected. ZERO took actions into his own hands. He ran down towards one of the figures and slashed wildly.
"hahahahah......" It drew its sword and countered. ZERO casted regen on him self then backed off. He gestured and a bolt of poison was thrown at his foe. He dodged and ZERO took this window of opportunity to go in for the attack. He threw his shied to the grown and ran with all his speed with his sword pointing straight out. The man didn't know what hit him. He collapsed on the floor in a bloody pool, but ZERO was suddenly struck in the back by a fireball. He fell to the ground unconscious.
"This fight is between you and me, this has nothing to do with them! " exclaimed Kyo.
Meanwhile The Mercenaries head back to Midgar
"We have to move quick if we want to help them."
"But what is in Midgar that will help them Leon?"
"Sector 5, we have to get to Sector 5!!"
Back at New Midgar
"Send your minions away and I shall send my soldiers away, keep them out of this......"
"I see you will never change Kyo, very well. Away!!"
The 6 other figures including the one the ZERO supposedly killed disappeared.
"I hold true on my part now you...."
"Everyone, get back to HQ, guard everyone in town, and make sure they don't breach the other walls!!"
"YES SIR!!!!" everyone said in unision. XXX went over to get ZERO and they retreated to where they came from.
Ch.10:Grim Samurai VS.......
"C'mon!!!" yelled Kyo. The two charged and swords bashed. Kyo repelled the sword and dashed to the left and quickly slashed. His foe was hit but unhurt.
"You call yourself the Grim Samurai?? What is this childs play?" with that, Kyo's foe sword suddenly glowed a bright blue. He aimed it at Kyo.
"Ha! You think that will harm me??" Kyo dashed out of sight then suddenly a bolt of lighting struck out to the extended sword, revealing Kyo's location.
"There you are!!" He slashed his sword and a mini whirlwind came straight towards Kyo who seemed unaffected until lightning struck again, this time on Kyo.
"You call yourself the Holy Samurai yet you want to consume and destroy....." Kyo managed to yell.
"I am not called holy because I am considered good, I am called holy because I am HOLY!!!!!HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!" a bright flash consumed the sky and then darkened again, Kyo couldn't see anything for awhile but once his vision cleared, his foe was no where to be seen, what was left was a hideous monster, as big as the wall itself.
"HAAHAHAHA, you didn't believe the holy materia could be corrupted like this??!! Once embedded into an unholy heart, Holy will become worse then the Black materia!!!!!!!" Kyo gasped as he got up.
" This is fine, when I'm finished with you the holy materia will be in its right place." Kyo stood up, unwilling to give up. He took something from his pack and threw it into the sky. The sky once again was engulfed in a blinding light. Kyo ran around behind the beast and struck many times in vein. 'I have to find a weak spot' he thought. After the light cleared, the beast fumbled around to renew his vision again.
"You think a mere light can stop me??" The beast swung madly , but randomly. One time hitting Kyo, knocking him off his feet. He let out a yelp of pain as he landed on his back, 20 feet away from where he had been hit.
Meanwhile, the Mercanaries reach Midgar
Destiny, Kaeru, stand guard here while Arche, Lionheart go into to sector 8. Check the house for any of our personal belongings. Ryoga, I trust you know the way to Sector 5, take me there for I seldom visit......" Everyone did what they were suppose to do. Leon and Ryoga near Sector 5.
"We're here. But what is in here that is so important?" Leon walked up to the wall on the left and revealed a console. He typed something into it and the whole room shifted.
'Here’s my chance.....' thought Ryoga
"The black materia!!" gasped Ryoga.
"yes, we must retrieve it, thankfully, those who attacked us before didn’t know the password to open the seal. Listen I wan......."
"Old man, this is over!!!!" Ryoga said menacingly. He ran up to the path and took the materia from its place.
"RYOGA!!!" but it was too late. Ryoga had already drawn his saber and was ready to kill Leon if need be.
"Ryoga, you don’t know what your doing!!!" Ryoga laughed menacingly, step by step.
Back At New Midgar
Kyo's situation is worsening by the minute.
"You'll never survive this next attack......."
Ch.11:Fight on Kyo!!
"HAHAHAHA, I learned this from our late master, Sephiroth. Don't mind the variation though, its just as affective.......BLOOD NOVA!!!!!!"
Kyo stood up, witnessing the horror right in front of him.
"You won't....ki..ll....me..." moaned Kyo. The massive bomb was released. Kyo summoned Bahumat Zero to counter, at least that’s what the beast thought. Kyo jumped onto the dragon and flew over the beast. Kyo jumped off in time to land on its head.
"You will die now!!" with all Kyo's might, he drove his sword deep into the beast's skull. The beast let out a deafening yell and Kyo way knocked off. The beast wavered for a while and finally fell. Kyo breathed heavily and clutched his chest. He collapsed.
Meanwhile in Midgar
Ryoga walked over to Leon who snatched the Black Materia from Ryoga
"You don't know who your dealing with do you?" Ryoga swung at Leon who dashed back but dropping the materia.
"HA! You want to take me on?" Ryoga hurled a fire bolt at Leon who was hit and severely damaged.
"I knew this day would come, so I layed low till now, I will finally be recognized!"
"Yeh, as the one who revived Sephiroth"
"Not even my friend, when I embed this into my heart, I am Sephiroth!!!!!" Ryoga walked over to the materia to pick it up but was interrupted once again by Leon.
"You fool! You never learn!" Ryoga swung again. This time, the two locked swords. Leon broke it off and Ryoga was stunned. Leon took this opportunity to pick up the materia and ran for it.
"COME BACK HERE!!!! YOU'LL NEVER SURVIVE IF YOU RUN!!" yelled Ryoga. Leon ran for his life until he reached the gate.
"SUMMON BAHUMAT!!" he yelled out before he reached the gate.
"Everyone get on, Ryoga is not one of us!!!" The dragon flew off to New Midgar. When they arrived, they notice the R.O.N. members hovering over something. The dragon swooped down and the Mercanaries got off.
"What is it?" asked Leon.
"It seems Kyo is very badly hurt. We are trying to heal him."
"Here this will help" said Destiny. She gestured and sparkles covered Kyo's body. Most of his wounds were healed but he was still unconscious.
Ch.12:The Hero......
Zi continued to walk about the field. He had been walking the same path for days now and began to wonder if this mission was a fake. Suddenly, he encountered a huge flying bird. It was a Zu.
"More action......" he said warily. He drew his Kiyomori but instead of attacking, threw a bolt of ice at the bird, freezing it. It fell to the ground. He then threw a fire bolt at the monster, melting the ice. The bird lay there and began to whimper. Zi took the final blow and killed off the bird. He sheathed his sword.
"Humph, when will this child’s play end?" he said to himself. He began walking some more until he noticed he was in familiar territory.
"This must be the Northern Crater..." Snow began to fall as Zi continued. When he reached the crater, he noticed fragments of machine and what seem to be parts of airship. He paid it no mind as he began going down the crater. Half way...........now to the bottom he took in his surroundings.
"This place seems thousands of years old. I wonder if there is anything left down there." With that, he jumped in. The stench was horrible. He could barley see with all the fumes. He hadn't walked more then 10 feet when he encountered a Master Tonberry.
"Christ, can't I finish my mission without being attacked?" Once again, he drew his Kiyomori. Then without warning, the Tonberry casted karma on Zi who was stunned but not harmed. The Tonberry inched closer.
"Oh no you don't!" he said as he charged at the Tonberry. He slashed twice, but he didn't even dent the thing. He jumped back and tried to summon Shiva but was attacked once again with karma. As usual, the Tonberry inched even closer. But Zi was prepared this time. He casted regen and before the Tonberry could attack again, Zi summoned Shiva. The cavern was filled with ice and the Tonberry was frozen, for the time being. Zi prepared himself for the worst as he casted cura and regen once again. The frozen ice shook, as the Tonberry broke free. It had a gleam in its eye as it continued closer to Zi.
"Just what I wanted!" Zi flipped over the Tonberry, landing behind it and stabbed it in its back. The Tonberry fell on its stomach. Zi drew from it the ability Evade and Counter and received "Ribbon". But his situation was worsening by the minute. Unaware of the hordes of monsters awaiting Zi, he continued on.
Ch.13:Premonitions
"I've got you now!!" yelled marvelous. ZERO casted regen before he got any closer. Closer.... closer, ZERO leaped out of the way of Marvelous's attack. Then countered by casting fire 2.
"Bastard!" yelled Marvelous. ZERO smirked as he advanced. But Marvelous had other plans. He dashed out of sight, then reappeared behind ZERO and tried to attack but ZERO was quicker. He turned around, casted bio and backed off. Then ZERO threw a whirlwind at Marvelous, stunning him. ZERO smirked as he advanced in for the final blow. ZERO underestimated Marvelous as he stood up and raised his palm towards ZERO. ZERO was thrown across the room and slammed against the wall. Marvelous laughed as he advanced on ZERO. Close enough now, he was about to stab ZERO when...
ZERO woke up in the infirmary of his base.
"Welcome back. You were knocked out cold by one of those hoodlums.... how are you feeling?" asked Kaeru
"My head hurts, how did we do? Did we win?"
"Yes we won, plus some!"
"What do you mean?"
"We were able to retrieve the black and white materia!"
"But how?"
"Kyo destroyed the group’s leader and got the white materia and Leon hid the black materia a long time ago, so he went to retrieve it. And that’s how"
"I see, how’s my leader? Is he hurt?"
"He was wounded during his fight but he's healing now..." ZERO got up from his bed and began to walk out the room.
"You coming?" asked ZERO
"Ah, sure." ZERO and Kaeru walked out to the balcony. Kaeru noticed there was something wrong with ZERO.
"Is there something on your mind?" asked Kaeru.
"Nothing, I'm just wondering why they attacked us that’s all. Its as if they had inside information, whether the turncoat is here or not." Visions of Marvelous ran through his mind.
Meanwhile Kyo begins to stir
"Zi help me!!!" Zi ran as fast as he could to the ledge. He slid halfway in order to reach Kyo.
"I've got you!" he grabbed Kyo's arm and dragged him up.
"That was a close one, Marvelous doesn’t know what we are risking in order to find him,” said Kyo.
"Well, we are almost there now so we could see what’s wrong with him, we last got a message from him from the bottom of the crater..." The whole cavern shook, interrupting Zi Suddenly, the wall to the right of them was destroyed revealing a King Behemoth.
"More trouble!" said Zi. The Behemoth advanced on them as they readied for battle. The Behemoth roared as it advanced when...
Kyo woke up in his office bed.
'That was strange...' he thought to himself. Kyo got up and tried to walk but he fell to his knees from a sharp pain in his side. He examined it and noticed a huge cut. He sat down and casted regen. He could feel himself getting better and tried to walk again. This time, he was successful. He entered the main shrine and seated himself in his usual seat. He dozed off again...
Ch.14:ZERO heads out….
“I have to go…” said ZERO
“But where, theres no place….” ZERO left Kaeru before she could finish her sentence. The gate to the air slip opened and the “Highwind V” flew out. ZERO at the ****pit, along with a few other crewmen, issued an order.
“Set our course for the Northern Crater…”
‘Marvelous awaits me there.’ ZERO thought. The ship flew steadily but quickly and soon enough, ZERO reached the Crater. The ship landed and ZERO entered into the caverns below. ZERO had never intended to stop to fight any creatures so he sped by and at times used his invis skill, turning him invisible for a few moments. At one time, ZERO thought he had heard footsteps of someone else but paid it no heed, he had to be swift in order to reach Marvelous. Finally, to the bottom of the cavern, ZERO readied himself with the regen spell. But before he could finish, an earthquake interrupted him, the cavern shook and chasm formed. ZERO was unharmed for the time being but he thought he had heard a beast roar. He continued on. Finally, he reached a room that was just recently hollowed out. Light was shining from within. ZERO drew his sword and entered cautiously. A rock slipped and fell. ZERO looked its way. A hooded figure lounged at ZERO and he was overwhelmed by the weight. ZERO fell over and was stunned. He casted barrier causing the body to fly off him and land a couple feet away.
“Marvelous, why are you doing this?”
“Marvelous…that name seems familiar but I no longer use it. But that is of no concern now, why have you intruded into the Sacred Grounds??”
“What are you talking about?”
“This is where my master will be reborn and this is where my clan resides, you are lucky my fellow clans men are still recovering from their fight.”
“You mean…”
“Yes! I am the new leader of the Alliance of the One Wing.”
“Stop this now! Sephiroth will never be reborn!”
