Prolouge:
------------
The ideology of war, “kill or be killed”, the law of the jungle, “only the strong survive”, they all mean nothing in the eyes of an ordinary civilian, but to the soldiers… the men and women who fight for the space colonies very existence these are the laws they go by…
Being a soldier myself I can tell you first hand, that anyone who doesn’t follow our “bushido” is certain to die a quick but painful death. Out here in space there are no second chances, whether it be on board a Battleship or piloting a mobile suit, there is no room for error. Lack of experience is no excuse; many of the soldiers being recruited by both the Earth Federation and ZAFT are nothing more than young boys and girls in their late and early teens… Hah I never thought the war would come down to this, but then again I should have known better, the war between the “Feddys”, as we like to call the Earth federation, and us ZAFT has been raging on for a time span of about one and a half years, many of the once prosperous space colonies are now uninhabited or in most cases no longer exist, as they have been the brutal victims of the Earth Federation’s relentless mobile suit raids… But it should come as no surprise that, during this horrific war the Earth Federation has suffered as well, the Earth… Once rich with natural resources, no longer has the capability to sustain the Earth Federation’s needs, it is for this reason much of Earth has moved to the moon or to the three space colonies that support the Earth Federation… only the “elite”, are allowed to live on Earth. In recent times to further meet the needs of their ever-growing population the Earth Federation has started a joint effort with the space colony, Ontillia to colonize Mars… But that’s where we come in…
As I said before I am a ZAFT soldier, but I along with a dozen others are what you’d call “Coordinators” we are like the Newtypes from the legends of long ago, but unlike these mythical Newtypes our abilities, are not natural…
They were genetically engineered into us at… or to be exact before birth, knowledge from all the best pilots, engineers, and military personal was implanted into our DNA, thus enhancing our physical and mental abilities… For the 13 of us piloting a mobile suit and fighting in a war has always been a way of life and is like breathing or moving our own hands and legs… But I’ve strayed from the topic, now haven’t I?
…Getting back to Ontillia and the Earth Federation’s plan to colonize mars, as I said that’s where we… Project: UNLIMITED come in, are past sorties have been more of a secretive nature, ranging from planned assassinations to protecting convoys, and ZAFT officials, but now that the war has picked up, and dragged on, Project: UNLIMITED’s real purpose is about to be revealed…
