I'm not. I'm enforcing the rules. Something that hasn't been done in FFR for over a year now. Just because you found someone who ticks doesn't mean that they shouldn't be suspended. Especially when they were flamming you. He'll be back in 5 days.

| The fact is no one was offended by his actions. Do you honestly think the guy will stick around through a five-day ban? No. We'll have just lost another member who was nearing the completion of his training. All you had to do was move it to the *****ing Grounds. There was no need to ban him, even temporarily. We have that sub-forum for a reason, and we don't need staff banning people for any reason they can just so they can feel the throb of their e-penis. No one was offended by his "flamming" (it's spelled "flaming" for the record. People need to start getting this right), so there was no reason to ban him. If he was constantly spamming the boards, I could see banning him. If he was flaming non-stop with everyone on the boards, I could see banning him. However, he had a verbal argument in ONE thread. This means, the way you handle it is split it and move it to the *****ing grounds. |

ugh. Really, if Squall should be suspended, then so should just about everyone else who posted in this thread. Especially Darkness Seeker.
I thought we were going to discuss people's suspensions with the rest of staff before suspending them, anyway. This doesn't really seem major enough to warrant a suspension; it's just S7P, and we never really bothered to announce that we were even going to start enforcing the rules in here, much less start suspending people just for breaking them in here. |

if you want to be technical, he was fighting in at least one or two other threads as well, at least one of which he necroposted in (among others), and that's just what i've seen this evening. this just happened to be one more example that showcased his lack of understanding of the concept of a forum, and it happened to be in S7P.
besides, like Kanis said, he's no doormat; a temp ban isn't going to kill him. frankly, i'd rather not worry about him running around digging up the graves of old threads with meaningless comments while i'm away this weekend anyway. |

My point exactly Aaron. Even though I'm on the good side of it, favouritism in a leader is bad new. It means ****ty leadership and mods are supposed to be the e-community leaders. Thusly you fail Meru, by treating us better than this kid because we are vets. Also by applying only your interpretation of the "law" look at it from his POV.

That's what I thought. Bring issue up with staff and staf all decide as a group... But meh, I'll just stay in the middle..

I banneed him because he did not only have misnomers in this thread, but others as well. He was Temp banned because his warnings added up, anyways. It wasn't out of the blue.
Aaron, this thread was originally in the Sector 7 Playground, which we said we were going to enforce the rules in, before it was moved. |

I find the actions of this newly appointed, vagrant, moderator to be astounding.
Mr Squall had a minor disagreement with Kanis and a known tit, Darkness Seeker. He shouldn't have been warned for the actions in this thread. Thus, the suspension is invalid.
The part I find most arousing is how everyone involved in this "dispute" is calling for his unbanning whilst the offending staffer is arguing for the ban. It's almost like she just WANTS to ban someone.
I dare her to ban me. |
