Some game sites reported we may not even see this game this year, however news has spread across the internet that FFXIII will hit PS3 consoles this year- Nomura has said so himself, Games Are Fun website report.

Also a playable demo will be available on the Playstation Network as well.

That said Nomura didnt pinpoint exactly when both will occur..xD Also, does he just mean it will be available in Japan in 2008- then 2009 for USA, Europe? We shall see...

Dont do the happy dance just yet..

Seems SE have caught wind of these game sites posting this news and have this to say themselves:

"Although information regarding the release date of FINAL FANTASY XIII has been reported by certain videogame websites, Square Enix itself has yet to make an official statement on this topic. Any reports of a confirmed release date are erroneous and should be disregarded.

"Square Enix will make an official announcement in the future concerning the release date when it has been determined."

Wada has recently stated that they dont want to release two big games in the same financial year- ie Dragon Quest IX and FFXIII and seeing as how DQIX will come sooner it will mean FFXIII may come next year instead.

you may be right but i rather have them release them both trhis year because if they dont then they wont release it till like june 1st 2009 and that will suck.

Im sure fans would like them released this year but for SE it would dent their stocks and sales they would say
