Let's start out with my opinion on 12. It doesn't feel like Final Fantasy! A Cactoid instead of a Cactaur? No more battle system (has its pros and cons) and it feels and looks more like Star Wars than Final Fantasy. All the fmvs look exactly like Star Wars, the Airships, the Judges and leaders, the clothing. Its a great game but it isnt final fantasy.
Now XIII, it looks like a sci-fi game. :-( enough said |

The only thing I have seen about FFXIII it's a damn trailer, and so far is great. The Introduction, the quote to Shakespeare, everything is great until the present day. This is the game I am waiting to play since the PS3 made its dramatic entrance on the stores. (yeah...too damn expensive)
I haven't played FFXII, so once I take a look at it, I'll tell you. |

I disagree, it seemed a lot like a Final Fantasy to me. It had a Cid. It had familiar weapon names, it had familiar enemies, it had chocobos, it had magic as usual, and there were tons of references to things in older games, more than any other Final Fantasy up to this point. I do agree that it's similar to Star Wars, but it still rings Final Fantasy for me.
Not that it should really matter as long as it's a good enjoyable game, which I believe it is.
FFXIII is very sci-fi, and at this point I am damn confused about what this battle system is going to be like. The screenshots don't really help to clarify anything about it. I heard something about a stop-pulse system where time stops and actions are laid out in the order they are to be executed, thus leaving a lot of room for customization and combos, and something with an ATB gauge (which seems to be something that is detracted from instead of something that must fill), but I don't really know for sure. It looks interesting. |

Really, all Cactaurs should be called Sabotenders, as they are in every Japanese FF game. 
I liked the new battle system... never really been a fan of random encounters. As for it not feeling like a Final Fantasy, I disagree. It had everything that a Final Fantasy should have... they just changed the presentation of those things up a bit, which I think is a good thing. Innovation is always good. |

Well i believe its the next evolution of FF , there has always been "limit breaks" , and summonings change.
i believe this is a good change and i look forward to whats install for next FF. |

| they're just growing in a new direction. like they did with X-2. they went in a different direction and it was met with a totally mixed opinion. I'm enjoying XII, the battle system took me forever to get the hang of, but once i figured out the gambits, it was smooth sailing! I haven't seen any more than just a trailer for XIII so I'm going to reserve my opinion until i get a better perspective. |

Yesh, what little news of 13 that is leaking out, I like it. (As long as they change that freaking name! Lightning, heh) It looks bee-yoo-tee-ful, and fun. I just hope it's not all going to be a single-chara game like it seems in the trailer. That would suck.
12 is probably my new fave, just because it forced me to think all the time. And the story is ACTUALLY different this time, not by much, but somewhat. No major angsty teen love story in this one, folks, just good old political corruption ^~^;; |

If I wanted that I'd watch the news!
I feel like screaming about how little development they put into the relationships in this game. There is almost none, save for the Balthier and Fran moment.
but other than that, i suppose it does feel sorta like final fantasy mixed with star wars. i think the resemblance sorta overshadowed the game for some people. the fact that i kept comparing it to star wars in my head as i played the game is already an indication that they could have been a little more original, but it wasn't that big a deal for me. |

| To me it seems as if they went with a more computer game feel on this one. But, all in all great game FF12 a+. |
