History: Was born in the frozen wastelands of Gaia and showed great potential as a summoner at age six. Her parents sent her to live at the summoners colony on the main continent, where they knew she would have a better life. She has lived there for 12 years and is now on her way to being one of the most powerful summoners on the planet.
Appearance: white peasant top with puffy sleeves and bound wrists. Blue pleated skirt with a floral print and lace around the hem. fish net stockings. black Mary-janes. Very curly and matted black hair held (hardly) back with a simple white headband. Black leather choker with small, red crystal heart. Very large crimson eyes. Not very muscular. very pale skin. Dark rings under eyes.
Distinguishing characteristics: only has eight toes, summoner's mark in between her shoulder blades (a black "m" shape, like a child's drawing of a bird, the only tatoo allowed in the colony. it's required, actually)
Personality: Very serious. She is not talkative. Has a sense of humor, but makes jokes with a straight face. Very worrisome. But she is helpful, loyal and protective.
Ambitions: To become a powerful summoner, to master the summoning of Bahamut
Concerns/setbacks: Can't master Bahamut, even though all of her peers have.

~Facial Features~
Hair- black, wildy curly and matted, down to her ribs (mid back). Usually keeps it held back with a white, plastic headband, alhtough a few pieces always escape.
eyes- dark crimson. Long lashes, and her eyes look...sleepy. Almost always half-closed, unless she gets angry or frightened, of course.
skin- Caucasian. A pale as possible for living in a desert. So, tan but not dark. Pale but not vampiric. In between.
other: very childish facial features. Round cheeks and chin. Small ears
~Description~
Height: 5 feet, 2 inches
Weight: 120 pounds
body build: very lithe and limber. Long limbs, especially her legs. Think gymnast. Oh, and she was born with only 8 toes. She's missing the little toe on each foot.

attire: a sleevess, poofy-type peasent top, with ruffles around the collar and arm holes. Drawstring type of thing at the collar. Corset...thingy... over that. Brown with red details, such as the cords lacing it up. long brown wrap-around skirt over dark red leggings. sandals or boots, depending on weather. a necklace made out of a black leather cord and a small bead. A belt made out of a chain-mail like material is tied around her waist, loosely. Off of that hangs the pouch where she keeps all of her materia. Her small handgun is held on a brown leather strap that hangs on her shoulder and circles around her waist, like a purse. The clothing and things she wears has to be somewhat airy and loose because she lives in the desert.
~Personality~
Attitude: She does not like to fight physically with her own hands. She would rather use magic. She reacts to others quite coldly at first. Her trust is a very strange thing. She either trusts you at first meeting or she never trusts you. Her view of life is surprisngly optimistic. She thinks that world will eventually become whole again, and a better place. Basically, she has an adults hard outershell on top of a soft child's optimism and trust.
Fighting style: Mercedes prefers not to be in the center of action. Instead, she stays off to the side, using magic from her summons or a ranged attack from her gun. She uses very circular movements, and a fighting style closely realted to Xui Quan or drunken boxing.
Religion: This world's version of Christianity. She believes that the world was created by the Unknown to be a utopia and that humans destroyed it. She believes that only by acknowleding the Unknown and asking forgiveness for the crimes she commits against the world can she be forgiven. She believes that she will go to Heaven when she dies because she believes.

~History~
Mercedes was born to two poor human parents in the Northern Ice Cap of Citadel. When she was six, she began to show promise as a summoner. Her parents, wanted her to live utilizing her abilities to the fullest. They could not afford the boat ticket to the mainlands where she could be trained, but a man named Cecil came through her village and witnessed her powers and took her to the mainland.
Mercedes stuck with him for a year and when she was seven years old, Cecil had her accepted into the Morrowflail Summoner's Colony, in the middle of the En Fuego desert. Other summoner's lived there, as well as another colony in the southern forests.
Mercedes was accepted under the care of her new guardian and teacher, Guin. Guin taught her how to use her powers to the fullest and also watched after her carefully. They lived together in one of the many small apartments of the colony for several years. But when Mercedes was sixteen, the neurocorrosis epidemic started. Guin contracted it before there were any treatments to slow it down and she died with in a year.
17 year old Mercedes was now alone and with out instruction. She continued to teach herself by reading notes made by Guin, books and by watching the powerful summoners on the High Council.
She is now 18 years old and is being studied by the High Council because she has grown to be very powerful, particularly in the use of water elemental magic. She could been giving a spot on the Low Council, a group of highly powerful summoners who under the guidance of the High Council act as teachers, enforcers and guardians to the colony, taking in new citizens or orphaned children, teaching the art of summoning and enforcing the law of the colony. |
