Well, for those of you who read my intro thread (if you haven't, get over to the New Member's Inn and do so now!), I am now posting a detailed description of all aspects of my job class. Hopefully you'll want to become a Yellow Mage too!
Job Name: Yellow Mage
Job Command: Yellow Magic
FFT Requirements: Lv. 3 Squire, Lv. 5 Black Mage, Lv 5 White Mage, Lv. 5 Time Mage, Lv. 5 Oracle [it's hard work, but worth it!] FFTA Requirements: [Humes and Nu Mous only] Black Mage A-ability x3, White Mage A-ability x3, Illusionist A-ability x3 [that's right, your Hume is gonna have to look like-a-girl fruity for a while!]
Weapon: Bladestaff [similar to Zidane's thief swords in FFIX, except only one side is bladed, the other has a staff attached] Outfit: [if you remember the second sorceresses you fight in the Commencement Room in FFVIII, the robe is something like that. The hat is lsimilar to a nightcap, with the bobble floating above the peak, and it curves near the top to the point. And of course it's all yellow (varying shades)] Who knows, maybe an artist will deign to render it!
Armour/Other Equipment: Like a Red Mage, is able to equip mage robes, and some light armour.
OK, now comes the good stuff!
Commands (a la FFIX):
Attack
Yellow Magic (or Yel Mag)
Imbue
Items
Imbue: Aligns a character's weapon with one of the eight elements for three turns. If used on a weapon of opposing element due to imbuing (e.g. wind on earth) they cancel out. If the opposing element of the weapon is innate (i.e. Flametongue=Fire), it is cancelled out for two turns. This is useful if you have a weapon that is much stronger than any of your other weapons, but whose element the enemy absorbs/nullifies.
Much (but not all) of Yellow Magic is "reflective" in nature, and contains a mixture of all other magic types. Unusually, the caster selects two targets, or two sets of targets. The spell affects the first target (usually an enemy) and the reverse effect affects the second target (usually an ally). Well, enough explanation. You'll (hopefully) get it when looking at the spells below:
Tetris/Tetra/ga: The obligatory three-tier attack spell. Like Kjata from FFVII, it attacks with three elements. Starting elements are fire, lightning and wind. Other element selections can be found in treasure chests (one-time only!). Combining opposing elements (e.g. fire and ice) will cancel them out.
Drainra: Rather than draining the selected target's HP and using it to heal the caster like Drain, Drainra lets you select the recipient of the drained HP.
Drainga: Basically Drain affecting all enemies and allies. Combined drained HP is split equally among all party members.
Osmora: Basically Drainra for MP.
Osmoga: Basically Drainga for MP.
Chronosiphon: Affects the targets' speed through Haste and Slow. If both targets are at normal status (and the first target isn't immune to slow), the spell will cast Slow on the first target and Haste on the second. The same basic principle applies in other situations, for example:
Target 1=Haste, Target 2=Normal: Returns first target's speed to normal, casts Haste on second target.
1=Normal, 2=Slow: Casts Slow on first target and returns second target to normal.
1=Haste, 2=Slow: Returns both targets' speed to normal.
Barrier Siphon: Affects the targets' physical and magical defence through Protect and Shell. Specifics are the same as Tempus Siphon.
Custard Bomb: The ultimate Yellow Magic spell!! Yes, I did get the name from the Mustard Bomb ability of FFIX fame!
It's a surprisingly complicated ability, so here's the lowdown:
A giant tsunami of (piping-hot!) custard washes over the enemies and induces the Heat (FFIX) and Pie (original) status effects. Now, because of Heat, you have to be quick (which is why it helps to have Haste on the character who will perform the following actions, and Slow on all enemies). Have a character use Devour (FFVIII), and a good effect is guaranteed! (Yes, I know I'm mixing stuff exclusive to separate games, but it's my job!)
...and there you have it. Everything about being a Yellow Mage in one (finally complete!) post. Read, learn, become.

Hmm I think after the green magick in FF XII there might be a place for yellow magic since it's the only color that isn't used (except for pink although i don't wanna see that one ).
I like the idea but what kind of magic does it use? I know it's yellow and that's all. But what does this magic actually do?
I'd go for something like black but with more devastating and something like time magic but more usefull.
Nevertheless interesting idea. Pls notifie me if you have a continue.

I’ll be driving around town to a few theatres in LA, to see how audiences respond to the movie.

The mixture of action and horror worked very well for this video game adaptation.
real nice one!!! hope they put this job in ff XIV (whatever that stands for ) anywho i should've picked another weapon like two swords who are a mixture of a katana and cloud's buster sword or something weird like a huge brush on a stick. anyways i still find it a great idea real nice work
