| What requirements are there to become a moderator? Just wondering. |

Well okay, this is a good question that needs to be answered I guess. Here's what is required:
* Don't ask for a Moderator spot.
* Active member. Quality, honest, and on-topic posts.
* Trustworthy.
* Subjects that are of strong intelligence. In other words, know a lot of a specific subject on the Forums. (Music forum, Gaming forum, etc.) |

You need to be able to take quite a lot of abuse. During my 2 years of being a Moderator at various sites, I have encountered a fair few situations which have been...rather difficult to deal with. It's hard to carry on when everyone seems to hate you, but it's your responsiblity to keep things in order. It's difficult to close threads and warn people, but in certain cases, it just has to be done.
*And everything else Afterlab mentioned* |

I've been a Mod at a few sites and even here for like a day and then the server and boards went dead. About that, Afterlab... I want my Modship back! Just thought I say that, you didn't even let me enjoy it. But, I didn't get much abuse, then again everyone was rather laid back at the forums I modded. But, seriously Afterlab, where's my Mod spot? I had it and your server crashed... |

| Having valuable experience and becoming someone that can be trusted is probably one of the most important factors when somebody considers you to become a moderator. Don't do it just because you want to look important, that's probably one of the most frequently used reasons. |

| Well, I wanted to be Mod cause I wanted to help out and was growing fond of FFR. But, the next day the server was gone and everything went dead. This all happened around Christmas and then FFR got up around January or so and I was to busy with everyday life stuff and City of Ancients, plus my old PC sucked and it took 15 mins for the main page to load up. Now that I have a new PC, DSL, and a good bit of time on my hands, I came back cause Duo asked me to and I wouldn't mind getting my spot back. |

Vicious: Maybe you should give Afterlab a message to discuss your problem. I'm sure he can help you out.
Being a Moderator is reasonably difficult. Knowing exactly when to close threads is hard, as there is a certin border between Insanity and Spam. Keeping a close eye on the forums is part of the privilege, and it is difficult. Ultimately though, it's very rewarding. You feel like you're helping out a community. |

| Yea, exactly...I hope I'll be a mod on here some day. |

I've been on since the early days of TWN. I'd say I'm the only one since then, who doesn't have a Mod position, for OBVIOUS reasons |

haha, Sano you got banned so many times I've lost count.
But, I'm going to PM Afterlab about it after this post and being a Mod isn't really that hard, I've done it plently of times. |
