I've noticed how alot of mods usually close old threads if someone decides to dig it up and post there. I don't see the problem, if they're contributing to the discussion. So my question is, whats wrong with it?

Forum regulations, if it's over 1 month old, it's an old thread so it's closed. xP Also, half the time it isn't contributing much to the thread or is in general a pointless thread that doesn't need to be revived in the first place. Then there's times people dig up threads from half a year ago...

I have a question... why you people "delete" (delete, not close) a new thread??

And why do members post threads worthy of deletion? The exact reasons are listed in the forum guidelines in one of the FAQs. One of the modding job FAQs. *searches for it*

CLICK! Or if you're too lazy:

Quote:
Deletion:

If we have to delete a thread, then this means it doesn't belong anywhere. So we cannot move it and it, therefore it needs removed.

Deletion has many reasons. If it is too vulgar or offensive, it will be deleted. Otherwise threads like this we be locked.

Well Kitten, what if they revive a thread that isn't pointless and they simply contribute to it and post again?

If they are TRULY contributing to a thread that has just reached the 1 month mark in say, a balamb garden thread, it most likely would not be closed unless the thread was to do with something important from over a month ago or something. xP

Chiri: Threads asking why this was closed or that was deleted are the same as threads asking for modding or unbanning etc. in that they are purely spam. The latter are closed as they leave room for consideration and referance for the staff. Thread closing and deleting is to be taken to the staff via PM. As for the other thread, you'd need to trace the person that did that and ask them why they did.
