Question  Avatar Dimensions

I suppose this belongs here O.o

Anyhow, could the avatar dimensions (65 x 65) possibly be increased to 75 x 75? 65 seems awfull small, although if it eats up more bandwidth or whatever then it probably isn't a good idea.

*is not staff and has no say*

64x64 is the general standard for fora all over the net and I don't really see why anyone would need anything bigger than that realy. Obviously, some pictures will look crap when shrunk to that size but well... tough luck =P

*is not a staff member and doesn't really know*

From what I know, 64 x 64 is a general size for avatars in all the forums I am in. Maybe you need to talk to one of the mods?

50x50 used to be the standard after being abolished with the 64x64 standard. If I was to increase, it would not only increase the limited bandwidth issue, but I would need to reformat a lot of the templates associated with an active avatar.

Later down the road, I have planned a new avatar dimensions. That'll be FFR v4.0 most likely. Don't get excited though, I don't expect this to occur until 2004 or later.

well... that's a very long time to wait... 65X65 is too small anyway.

Damn you Eric, now you've got us all excited. If the avatar dimensions increased it would push the postbit over a bit, and as afterlab said, he'd need to change the width of lots of tables etc. in the templates.

I don't think that it is too small. I think that 64 x 64 is a good size for an avatar.

yeah... good enough for me.... but.... still, many pic will not be a good pic if we shrunk it to that size, and if we cut them, we'll only get the eye.... but.... it's okay...
