EDIT: Fixed a few problems.
EDIT2: UPDATE I added 2 sections, and added to some other stuff. More Formatting.
All info is as of my knowledge, and is to try and stop from exessive "Why can't I change my avatar" - "Why don't I have RP? Get RP" posts. I know Rainecloud has one, and I know I'm not a mod or anything. But there needs to be a new one with the new stuff in it.

RP = Republic Points.
Republic points, are like money, we use them to buy items, and they can only be obtained by being a good member. (See: Later section of this post, to know more about Obtaining RP.)
Gil.
As of yet, there seems to be no use for this. There may be in the future, but I'm not sure. You can obtain it by referring people to the forums. They just put you as the person that directed them to the forums, and you get one Gil. I have 1 Gil ATM, because I have referred one member. "Eraph".
This might explain some things too:
Quote:
Afterlab:
I knew "Gil" was from Final Fantasy, and used as the games' currency. I also knew that I could've made our forums' "RP" known as "Gil". But long before the Points hack, I decided the referrals to be known as "Gil". So therefore to lessen the confusion, RP was originated. I also didn't want to try "Gil", because every RPG forum uses that set of currency. Originality accounts for success.

Why do some people have "MASSIVE RP"?
Probably because they are a "Admin" or "Super-Mod". They don't need RP for themselves, so they can have as much RP as Afterlab sees fit. Then, they use thier RP to donate to all the members as needed. So, that's why they have so much.
How do I get RP?
by contributing to the forums. Make good posts, be a nice member, and come up with good thread ideas. Post FanFics, or Fan Artwork, and the mods might reward you with RP.
Post good graphics in the "Graphics Asylum" and they might donate to you aswell. Below, you can see what each amount of RP generally means. And how much is alot, and how much isn't very much.

RP Chart:
- Not very much: 0 - 100 RP
- Good: 150 - 300 RP
- Regular Member: 350 - 500 RP
- Good Member: 550 - 800 RP
- Quality Member: 850 - 1200 RP
- Contributing, Known Member: 1500 - 3000 RP
- Long Time Quality Member: 5000 - 10000 RP

Anything past that, and it doesn't matter. I have a-massed a collective 2,000+ RP I think. I've spent or donated most of it.
My Avatar / Status!
We have a thing here, that'll make people want RP even more, and so they will want to be good members even more. It also makes them stop changing their Republic Card like crazy people.
You have to get a "Good" amout of RP, before you can PAY to have a custom Avatar. (Read chart above)
The custom status works the same. You need to have RP, before you can change it.
Finding The Right Place To Post.
Read the descriptions for every forum, to get familiar with where to go, when posting things.
FF7, 8, and 9 things. Go into "Final Fantasy VII-IX".
If it is directed at other members, or about something that would be off-topic anywhere else. Post it in "Costa Del Sol" ok?
If your not sure, then post it in "Costa Del Sol". That's what Afterlab told me when I was new, and wanted to make The FFR: PCA.
The reason all the forums are named this way, is to be unique, and make it more fun. You'll get used to it, and it's not a big deal. I've always liked it personally, so if you don't like it, then I'm sorry. Because I cannot see your Point of view.
Extra Info.
Please read about clubs, before creating one. Don't double post, always contribute, don't go getting angry at people, or being rude about anything.
PM Me with any questions you might have. I can at least try and point you in the right direction.

MODS AND PEOPLE WHO MAY BE READING THIS:
I just decided to make something with some basic info about the current changes at FFR, so that every new member through the door had something to read other than other help threads. Delete, don't stick, copy paste into your own help posts... RaineCloud might wanna update his help post to include this stuff... Blah Blah Blah. EDIT: Well, I guess everyone liked it! I'm glad.

| Nice idea, FFGnome. Did you read my FAQ before you posted this, because all of the sections have been updated in accordance with the new features here at the FFR forums. Our two threads are very similar...but this one has a few extra bits of information. |

Oh, I'm sorry Raine. I didn't take into account that you may have updated your FAQ. To be perfectly honest, the first draft was made because I was angry at all the questions that were getting threads in here. So I decided to make this.
I'm glad I made it anyway, and sorry again for not checking first.

| No problem, Gnome. Could I have your permission to use some of this FAQ? I could implement it into my original post to make one, up-to date and accurate FAQ. Of course, I'll give you credit for your sections. I only think we should do this for ease - keeping one main FAQ post is the best thing to do. |
