Today, March 8, 2003, I am leaving for my Spring Break vacation. However, this vacation will not be any ordinary vacation. Although most of my time will involve snowboarding and snowmobiling on the snowy mountains in Lake Tahoe, i'll also be planing the blueprints behind the newest version.

What's the Battle System v3.0?
Final Fantasy Republic's upcoming rebuild of the Battle System will premiere newer functions, battle commands, and fix many of the latest bug reports.

Release Date?
A release date cannot be set at this time. It is projected to be ready by late June 2003.

Need Beta Testers?
Not at the moment. If we needed public beta testers, Final Fantasy Republic would open the battle system's gates to the members for beta testing.

What's Being Changed in v3.0?

Guaranteed Changes
  • 'Defend' battle command.
  • 'Change Equip' battle command split.
  • Key Items slot.
  • Item Shop upgrade.
  • 'In-battle' statistics for 100% accurate battle statistics show.
  • Tent item.
  • Dynamic item and player comparison attribute difference.
  • 'After Battle' received items, EXP, etc..
  • Improved 'level up' notification.
  • Redesigned EXP system. (no longer a percentage + makes it harder for high-leveled members to level up)
  • Removal of Private battling.
  • Improved battle card.
  • Improved Inn feature w/ bug fixes.
  • Introduced clan feature into battles.
  • Improved battle loops on battle index.
  • Improved battle ticker w/ less queries.
  • Improved music usage. (for those who allow music to be played)
  • FFR Card side-functionality w/ battle system.
  • Improved 'theif' abilities.
  • Updated skill attributes and use in battles.

Possible Changes
  • 'Party' function.
  • 'Bestiary' battling. (new battle zone)
  • Chocobo Racing.
  • Elemental attributes.
  • Learning abilities through TP. (Final Fantasy IX-like TP Gauge ability system)
  • Battle animations.
  • An online 'Tetra Master' card game.
  • Betting Shop

A Reset would piss off GrimReaper + Neo Seifer as they got so high

Possible changes?
The magitek knights are, well, disadvantaged... You should give them some things like the knights have (armor break etc) for the idea is a weaker knight but with magic powers correctamundo? Well then he should have a balance of both magic and status change attacks.... Just my thoughts, otherwise the whole idea sounds excellent...
