The Final Fantasy Republic Battle System is a complicated network of equations, possibilities, strategies, and outcomes. To help serve your experience at Final Fantasy Republic better, I have compiled a full-length, in-depth guide to the Battle System.
Getting Started
Terms
HP (Health Points; Used as health within battle)
MP (Magic Points; Used as a skill budget within battle)
EXP (Experience; Fills up when damaging other character and when at 100% equals 1 new level)
TP (Tactical Points; Randomly given out during each command within battle. Used to learn new skills)
SphereBoard (Board full of Skills that can be learned by leveling up and earning enough TP)
Battle System (Complex instructions and programming that outputs playable combat between 2 or more characters)
Level (Your power and experienced expressed in one single number)
Attack (To bring virtual harm to another character)
Summon (Bring forth a creature or character to aid in battle)
Skill (Ability that can be used within battle against an enemy, or aid yourself)
Item (Purchased accessory to help support a player in combat)
Overdrive (Gauge that boosts when hit. When at 100, an overdrive can be used to bring a large sum of damage to the opponent)
Who Can Play?
If you have an account at Final Fantasy Republic fully verified and not banned, you are eligible for battling with other users on the forums. In order to battle, the user must have all of the following met:
- Verified and official user (Not banned).
- HP is not set at 0.
- Job Class defined (myRepublic > Edit RPG Info).
- All 4 slots equipped (Itemshop OR Select a Job Class).
- Set 'Can Battle' to 'yes' within their RPG Information (myRepublic > Edit RPG Info).
Adding A Battle
Adding a battle can be achieved easily using several methods. You can either go into a post from a user and find the 'attack' action to setup a quick battle with them. Another method (standard) is to go into the Battle System and click on to 'new battle'.
When adding a battle, you have several options. First, there is the title that is fully optional. If your battle does not include a title, the default title will be given to it in the format of Player 1 vs Player 2. Another option is selecting your opponent in battle. The results (if using standard method) will be filtered to hide those who do not meet the requirements (see above). The third option is the terrain or background, for which you would like to have your battle taken on. Select a terrain you would like to use by selecting the drop down menu to your desired background. More terrains can be gained by leveling up (more information on leveling up further down). The final option is to make the battle private (available only to the players) or public (available to all). By making it private, the battle will not appear on the Battle Ticker and will make the battle only available to those who have access (the 2 active players).
Commands
Normal Attack
The basic command is the Normal Attack. By using a Normal Attack, you are free of any MP deductions on your character's amount, however the attack may be lower then a skill depending on your job class.
Flee
Fleeing battles can be used if you are in need of escaping the battle. The reasons can become endless, but whatever the reason there is always one outcome. When you flee, you are receiving a loss added to your record, and giving your opponent a win. If your opponent flees, then you recieve the win and they receive the loss. RP cannot be earned when a member flees.
Change Equipment
A recently added command is the change equipment function. In this command, you can change your equipment while in battle, however you will be sacrificing your turn for your change in items equipped. No HP is lost or gained when changing equipment, so it is virtually harmless.
Skill
This command may appear as hidden once you first got into the battle system. However, once you learn more skills from the SphereBoard, this command will become available. Using a skill can either help you, hurt the enemy, and other numerous things based on the skill's type. There are basically 3 types of skills, they are: White Magic, Black Magic, and Grey Magic.
Summon
Summoning is only available for those who are of the summoner job class. This command enables the character to summon a powerful creature to help aid them in battle. Summons are normally very strong creatures when used, so the enemy is guaranteed damage. Another pro about summons is the ability that it can never miss and ward of all status ailments.
Use Item
Items purchased from within the Item Shop can be used within battle. Many of the basic items such as Potion, Ether, Elixir, Soft, and Antidote are several of the examples. All items used will be deleted from the user's inventory and will become unusable until purchased again. |

Well done to you, Eric. I shall now spend my night smiting the innocent for my own good will.
To be honest, I think you should take a rest from the forums. You've worked very hard from what I have read/been told.
Again, thanks for making my time here the best it can be.
(This forum is the only one I have stayed at for more than 150 days.) |

one small question, lets say you die right and you cant afford to bring yourself back to life isnt there a timer which brings you back?
same thing for hp, like does it recover after a certain amount of time? |
