FINAL FANTASY REPUBLIC LAWS

Final Fantasy Republic has alway strived to be the best online forum available to and made for Final Fantasy fans around the world. It has accomplished this by maintaining a diverse, intelligent, and friendly environment. This is part of what makes this forum home to many.
In order to maintain these crutial elements of the community, staff members are required to maintain a certain level of maturity, responsibility, understanding, and professionalism.
This generally means abiding by and reforcing the forum rules which every member and staff member agreed to upon registration.
Spamming: Spam generally constitutes as pointless posts that either detracts value from the thread or deviates greatly from the topic. Advertising (for sale, for trade, etc.) without adding value to the site is also an offense considered as spamming. This also includes chain letters that are not posted in Sector 7 Playground. Double-posts or making very similar posts in one thread are considered spam as well. All of these are warnable offenses.
Flamming: Flamming is publicly attacking another member of the boards. It is non-constructive and harmful; there is a difference between joking and actual flamming, and for the most part it is pretty evident, but a staffer may need to use their own discression to determine if a comment was made in jest. Check here for an example by afterlab. Flamming is a warnable offense. It is in no way tolerated and will be dealt with by staff members.
Offensive Material: Offensive material consists of sexually explicit material. This includes words, images and links to sites containing explicit material. Offensive material also includes negative religious, racial, sexist, and sexuality slanders. What is offensive will be evaluated by staff members, however, if a member complains about about a comment/image/link, it will be promptly removed and the member who posted it will be issued an official warning (no questions asked).
Plagiarism: Under no circumstances is this allowed without the proper credit being given to the author or creator. Plagiarism warrents an official warning and heavy questioning of the member's role; as Final Fantasy Republic can be held responsible for it.
Revival of Dead Threads: Old threads are to not be posted in again. If a member feels the need to bring up an old topic, they may feel free to write a new thread (this will help with more posts and more new threads). If a member revives a dead thread, they may be sent a friendly warning and be asked to stop. If they fail to do so and revive another thread, they will be sent an official warning.
Multiple Accounts: Having multiple accounts are illegal at Final Fantasy Republic. This means one member has more than one registered account. If a staff member finds out about a member having a second account, the second one will be banned and the member will have an official warning. No questions asked.
Trolling: Trolling is prohibited. This is different from flamming in that it's not offensive, but it's not constructive either. If a member is excessively trolling members, staff members or the forum in general and making the Republic unenjoyable to be at, they will be reviewed by staff members and may be sent an official warning.

Members have the right to challenge an official warning; in which case, it will be brought before the entire staff for a final review. This does not, however, imply that all challenged warnings will be revoked. If a majority of staffers believe it was valid, then it will remain so.
If a member recieves a friendly warning for a light offense, but they fail to comply with the rules, they will be sent an official warning. |
