Hmmmm i'm sorry Nic for not understanding the new topic......but still ive never heard of E, T or M rating.....probably cause we don't have it in the little country i live in.....games here are just marked with a number on a scale from 1 till 10....but i'm sure you can tell what the E, T and M rating are..

| Well all i know is that the higher the game rating (E, T, M) the more "youngins" will want to play em. I should know for i too was young......once. Ive seen and adult rating in the rating scale they have on video game stores but ive yet to see an adult rated game. |

Perhaps as games become more mainstream, then the overall public opinion of Mature games will go down, leading to Teen ratings instead. This has been happening for a while, and it will continue to happen.
At least I think so... |

What ARE all the ratings, anyway? I just remember E for Everyone, T for Teen, M for Mature...and...mmmmn, that's all I can think of. I think they've edited them all a bit over the years anyway. |

| I believe they did also trying to remember I had quite a collection could have told ya if my $900 worth of playstaition 2 games and dvds werent stolen from me yesterday I probably had all the ratings but not sure. yeah why havent they ever came out with AO yet lol |

They consider the public not quite ready for an AO game, as it would contain full frontal nudity, gratuitous violence...and very suggestive situations.
I suppose we are not ready yet.... |

Yes well....as long as politicians blame video games for violence (See Columbine), or parents seek to blame games for their kids doing bad in school, or not obeying rules....theywon't consider it worth enough.
Now...As more mature are coming it out, and the adult audience gets larger (The adult audience for Video Games is actually larger than the 17 and under one) the more the industry will cater towards adults. They already are actually. GTA, DOA: Beach Volleyball (I don't care WHAT you say...thats for adults), BMX XXX and more.
I just hope they do it responsibly enough that it will be accepted into mainstream American homes... |
