er i think this is the right place to put this.
anyway i've drawn a character and i want to use photoshop to colour him but i was thinking of using textures on his armour but when i apply them to him you only get it looking like it's flat where as his armour is rounded and has contours so how do i apply a texture but make it look like it's bending around the object, because while it's only a 2d pic i want it to have a sense of depth so i want to give his armour a dark dirty metal texture and he has a cape and i wnat to give it a soft velvety type texture, but unless it folows the folds and that then theres no point because that'd just make it look worse. so i was wondering if anyone could maybe give me a few pointers (or advise against using textures ) as i've seen some people work on here and it looks like we've got a few photoshop experts on here, so if you can give us a bit of help it's be much appreciated,
