The background is too plain. Try adding a render like this one to it and set the mode to color dodge. A color other than gray would be preferable. Try a simple white. A few, let me stress a few more of the little splatters. Add something like a scan line pattern, set to overlay, opacity 10-20% it should do wonders.
When working with a powerful color like red, it's important to break it up some. Too much red and it becomes an eye sore.
It doesn't matter that you've used default photoshop shapes. I feel that you've utilized them very well, and that is what matters. Not what you use, but how you use it. However, it wouldn't hurt to expand your resources. Deviant Art is not just a place for showing off your own creations. It's also an excellent resource site for brushes, shapes, renders, and stock. |
