Yeah, bottom font is a turnoff...
It's a tad too bright for my tastes, I would have liked to see some of the darker colors you laid down in the secondary background to be mixed with the primary layers, I think it would look a little better that way...
The image you used is blended in nice, though the white behind it sort of competes for attention, but I can't really say how I'd change that either, so it's fine.
